And now Helena Frye and PCPD has just said that nothing happened at Gillet Road. But that they are investigating gun fire. Gun fire?? when did that happen?

Cause there were other cops there. One generally doesn't let the people that they are spying on know that they are a spy.

True, but wouldn't they have noticed her sudden "disappearance" to go meet 3P? Why would she take her crew with her? They seem more like a special branch to me, and in on whatever she is doing, not people she's trying to hide truth from.

Unless the entire thing was a ruse to gain our confidence. The 3P folk obviously knew she was coming so she could definitely have tipped them off about the raid. It could have been her job to make sure they arrived just minutes too late to catch anyone.

On the other hand, the entire bunch of "police" that Frye had with her could be 3P operatives.

On yet another hand (that's 3 hands for those counting), someone could just as easily be setting up Frye to look bad.

We just don't know enough yet to say. Until we find out more we need to be VERY careful who we tell what.

I have no trouble accepting them as a black ops type of unit. I still think Frye is 3P, and the rest of the group is not.

I think the whole point of the 'raid' was to set Kurt up to be in her debt. Forced to do the tech stuff that her techs aren't capable of. It's a classic tactic in TV and movies involving spy's and double agents. Double agent infiltrates the authority type unit, sets up innocent but brilliant civilian, threatens jail unless that civiliain starts working for the bad guys while believing he works for the good guys. Eventually real good guys clue him in, and he becomes a double agent for the good guys in the bad guys organization.

It's good enough that they've used it multiple times in Alias

On those Tv shows though, don't they also lead the audience to believe a certain person is the bad guy, and then do a reveal two thirds the way through to show that they are not, in fact, the bad guy, to divert our attention from the real bad guy? In this case, I don't believe Frye is 3P. Suspicious, yes, in a covert (black ops, I think Tanner said sorry Centepede said it Smile ) kinda way, but I think her being 3P is a ruse to mislead us. It just doesn't...feel right for her to be, given the way this has been playing so far.

*Shrugs.*

But I may be wrong. Smile

More often they do it the other way around. We are led to believe someone (not the main character) is a good guy and they turn out to be the double agent.

My biggest reason for suspecting her is the 3P agents wondering why she would invlove the police. The only reason I can think of for them to say that if she weren't 3P hersefl would be for Kurt's (and therefore our) benefit. So I come up with either she IS 3P, or Kurt survaillence detection suite on his key sucked. I think the former is more likely.

I may be wrong, but isn't the only reason Frye is suspected of being a 3P member the message on the Viard CD? Which led to an apparent set up scenario, and perhaps is less to be trusted than we thought before.

Isn't it a bit spurious to base suspicion on the "that's how they do it on tv" idea?

It's not just how they do it on tv, but movies and books as well. It's part of the whole espionage genre. Not having it would be like watching an action movie without explosions or gunfights.

THe original suspicion of Frye was based on that hidden message, but the 3P operatives that Kurt overheard seems to confirm it.
