I'll be in Chicago for about 10 hours on Wednesday, anyone need anything while I'm there? Sorry I can't meet up with anyone, I'll be busy --

ah, yes, joe- I need you to meet krystyn and have a quick drink with her, can you manage that? Wink

Also - everyone knows that I am totally a last minute person, but can we make a firm date for those people who compulsively need to plan?

Like us people with a wife and two kids who are already planning out our driving route? Wink

The original weekend for ARG-Fest '06 was July 21-24. But some people have suggested July 28-31.

Do we have a concensus?

I've decided to plan my Vegas trip around ARGFest so that Jamesi's wife isn't disappointed. Smile Seriously, though, I had such a good time last year, how could I not attend again this year?

Sorry...I promise next time I'm in Chicago I'll almost meet you in the airport again...even if it is [groan]Midway[/groan].

Why do people hate Midway so?

Seriously, if you had seen it and spent hours at it before they did an Extreme Airport Makeover on it, you would likely want to hug and kiss that airport, and call it George.

What did Midway ever do to you???

Midway used to beat me up in grade school.
Midway makes telemarketing calls during dinner.
Midway steals from the collection plate.
Midway shows up at Bears games dressed in the other teams' jerseys.
Midway sends Vi@gra spam mails.
Midway types in all caps.
Midway drives 30 mph in the left lane.
Midway stole a Stradivarius from the back seat of a cab and tried to sell it on eBay.
Midway drinks up all the good beer from the fridge at parties and then splits.
Midway is a former Enron executive.

Also, I spent 5 hours there yesterday, and I was all pissed off because I had to keep going back and forth through security, and they confiscated three lighters that I had to go all the way to the orange line station to buy, and the same guy did a bag search on the robot dog I was carrying 3 times too, as if you could obtain robot-dog-compatable weapons grade plutonium at the orange line as well. But actually, I was able to obtain a reasonably priced yogurt-based lunch, and the World Series trophy was on display. So it's not all bad. Huggable, kissable, and Georgable, maybe not so much.

So can the Chicago crew agree on the dates?

And BTW I would never go to O'Hare if there was a Midway option available. Convenience, comvenience, convenience.

Ok, a few of us had a chat tonight, with the ARGFest '06 date as the major subject. Weighing all reactions in this thread, and also possible travel complications and hotel/flight prices (which are higher in the last weekend of july), we propose to pick the weekend of 21st-23rd of july.

I know it is very hard to come up with something that suits everyone, and this option seems (judging all reactions in this thread) to be the one that is best for the biggest group of people.

Sadly, the weekend of July 21-23 I'll be busy at Comic-Con, so y'all will just have to go on without me. :-/

Have fun!
