1/21 - The Inept: New Orbicon Docs Acquired

jpgs of shredded documents that still need to be put back together to be readable...

new orbicon documents acquired

January 20th, 2006

The Inept has gained possession of some interesting Orbicon documents. The documents were sent to us by a high ranking Orbicon scientist who has been living on Wasilei station. The documents have been shredded , however we are in the process of reassembling them and hope they will help us bring Orbicon to account in the near future.

Interestingly, the last document seems to be shredded blank paper.
Entry is dated 1/20, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't there earlier

...and hey, was that contact email always on the philosophy page?

I've reconstituted one of the pages (the one with the table at the bottom). It reads...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

1.0 Background

Orbicon has in late stage development two pharmaceuticals Accrescossin and
Accrescamin, designed to be used in conjunction, to help further man's
explortion of space, by reducing the debilitating effects prolonged exposure
to low gravity environments has on the human body. To date all data has
shownoutstanding efficacy though some questions regarding preclinical
toxicology are stll outstanding following the death of two research animals
due to cardiovascular failure. Despite these concerns the efficacy data is strong enough to support limited clinical trials in man.

2.0 Purpose and methodology

A limited trial in man is proposed to ascertain how humans respond to these drugs compared with animals. A proposed cohort of 100 healthy Orbicon volunteers working within the Orbicon Orbital Research Facilities will be
recruited and will be closely monitored as part of a double blind safety
study. As well as taking the medication, all personell working in a low gravity
environment will continue to follow the prescribed exercise regime and
program of regular surface visits to ensure every subject health is
maintained. At the end of the six month trial period the patients
cardiovascular and skeletal strength will be analyzed and personnel taking the
medication will be compared against the placebo arm of the trial. At any point
during the trial, personnel will be able to withdraw their consent and medical
staffw ill be able to break the blinding if they suspect a volunteer is suffering
as a consequence of taking the medication.

3.0 3 month interim results

Arm A
Patient Reason for withdrawal
1 Severe angina
3 Severe myocardial Infarction
7 Mild Myocardial Infarction
19 Rheumatoid Arthritis
16 Coma

Arm B
Patient Reason for Withdrawal
22 Gastric Flu

Theres one last page...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
4.0 Conclusions and Recommendations

As Table 1 clearly demonstrates prolonged exposure to Accrescosin and
Accrescamin must be considered an unacceptable risk due to the statistically
significant number of severe adverse reactions reported in arm A of the trial
within the first three months.

It is my belief that the safety data produced so far indicates that it is
unethical to continue this trial and that both Accrescosin and Accrescamin
msut be withdrawn from developement immediately. If the board is unwilling to
accept this recommendation then they musty accept my resignation as
head of pharmaceutical safety and testing forthwith.

Smells like a smoking gun.
