Dear Player,

We are pleased to announce that the first PCAG London event will be taking place on Saturday 25th February 2006 between 12pm and 6pm. We'd like to thank you for your patience while we've been developing a registration system. The event has proved incredibly popular so far and has received over 600 signups; however, due to this large number, unfortunately not everyone will be able to participate in the event, as we can only cater for approximately 200 players.

On Wednesday afternoon (1st February), we will send you an email linking you to a registration website. On this website, you will need to re-enter your details to confirm you can attend the event in London. Please only do this if you are *definitely* going to come, as otherwise you may be taking a place away from another player. In order to make the process as fair as possible, we will be giving preference to people who sign up early, and to complete teams.

IF YOU ARE ALREADY ORGANISED INTO A TEAM:

Your team must nominate a single team leader, and this person should gather all of the email addresses of the team. It will be the team leader's job to create the team when the registration website goes live and enter the rest of their team's details. Once this is done, the other members of the team will receive an email saying that their details have been entered. Please note that you are not confirmed a place in the event at this stage - this will happen a couple of days later.

Teams must be between four and six players in total. *All* team members must have unique email addresses - if a member doesn't have one, please register one at a site such as Hotmail (http://www.hotmail.co.uk) or Yahoo (http://mail.yahoo.co.uk).

If you do not have enough people in your team and you'd like to participate with random players, then do not close your team and it will be filled with players from the random pool.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN A TEAM:

If you are not already in a team but would like to attend the event, you can select to be placed into the random pool. After the signups have been completed, the random pool will be placed into teams automatically.

The earlier you sign up to the website (or are signed up by your team leader), the higher preference you will receive. If you are not in a team, the earlier you enter into the random pool, the more likely you are to be selected. After a few days, this signup will be closed and you will then be notified soon after as to whether your team has received a place in the competition. Please remember that we only have 200 places (approx.) for this event.

If you or your team don't get a place, you are still welcome to come along and meet other Perplex City players, and watch the games, although depending on numbers you may not be allowed into the central game venue. Please see the coming registration website for more information.

Best of luck - we'll be in contact very soon!

So ... we had better get those teams organised, and get people waiting online to register them

Hmm, just like they told me in the e-mail.

Well 600 people originally applied. There are only 200 places. Sounds like 400 miss out, but not really.

If you think about it, a lot of people were "id love to go if the date is right". The date won't be right for everyone. A lot of people probably just signed up because it looked cool and didnt give it a second thought.

The fact of the matter is, that the people who want to go, who really want to be there, will organise as much of a team as possible, and will submit their applications wednesday or thursday at the latest.

So hopefully, the people who really make an effort to be there, will be there.

Hope so anyway, would really be a disappointment if real players missed out to people who just fancy a fun day out.

Nothing wrong with a fun day out though...if it's just the mentalists that turn up then I think it'll be a bloodthirsty affair. Of course I use mentalist in the modern way; I don't mean Derren Brown and Debbie McGee. That would be odd. Although, it would probably be a fun day out too...

...I'll get my coat

Whilst I can't be there - will online helpers be needed as at Manchester/Clapham?

Regards, Stew

It doesn't look like it-I'm sure we would have been told by now.

Has everybody had this email? I've signed up and I've got the confirmation email but I've not heard anything since, and I certainly didn't get this email!
