Same as the first

Would this be what we are looking for?

http://www.theaquapolis.com/urchin/urchin
It asked me for the login.

entering cassius as name and urchin as password gave me an error 404.... But putting urchin/urchin result as an unauthorized entry...

well doesnt this imply that the user name is definitely 'urchin'?

anything else returns a 404, while that returns a bad password error.

if we knew the pw for this area, we could definitely find some more clues.

It just means that everything EXCEPT cassius/urchin is invalid, and there just isn't anything in that directory.

Where have you been all these days? Geez, search the forums! The login/pass is cassius/urchin.

Try this: http://www.theaquapolis.com/urchin/awefq

Basically, it means that anything in the urchin directory will also ask you for a password (because it's parent is protected). It's not telling you that there's a subdirectory called urchin inside urchin...

The Way

having read all the stuff that is on these boards and on ComingSoon, just thought I would add some information, whether useful or not who knows
The WAY - is the title of the Chapter from where Beth gets her latest CS Lewis quote from (in her email to Phillip) and the book is called "The Abolition of Man"
Songs in MLO bio he lists Beatles - 'When Im 64' as his favourite song, he is 64 years of age and I wonder if this somehow ties into the prime number theory being kicked around.
Little Boxes, (Beths site) is the title of a folk song, some of the words are:
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
Little Boxes on the Hillside
The whole song is easy to find on the Net and I wonder again if there is a tie in
This rabbit hole seems to be getting deeper

The way that HTTP and passwords typically work in Apache (the web server running these sites) is this:

1) If a password is required, it is asked. An incorrect username+password combination gives you a 403:Forbidden and stops.
2) If the password was correct (or there is no password), and the item you requested is a directory, it checks if indexing is on (i.e. if the web server is set up to show you a list of directory contents). If directory indexing is on, it shows you a list of what's there. If directory indexing is disabled, you get a 403:Forbidden and stops.
3) If what you requested is a file: if the file does not exist, send a 404:NotFound and stop.
4) If what you requested is a file and it exists: process it (i.e. if it is a page or media file, send it; if it is a script, execute it).

The new binary filename for the stairs pic is 15. So we have 1 4 9 25 15...

1*1
2*2
3*3
5*5
5*3

If 25 weren't there, I'd put money on the next one being 22...ah well. It looks like they're playing with prime multiplication...maybe 2*3=6 as a next one? Doesn't exist yet, anyway...we're missing something here...

(btw, I wanted to post this in the Oct. 11 pic threads, but they were all locked because the mods thought the pic was solved, end of story, no more discussion...well, the naming pattern isn't solved, is it? Sorry, but the moderation on this forum drives me crazy...)

If you think about it, discussing the binary doesn't fit in any of the picture threads.. you can feel free to create a new thread for it since we've had requests for more threads instead of long threads.

Call it "[PUZZLE] paintover binary filenames"... and discuss as you wish.. that way you don't have to come back to a spefic picture thread (Oct 1st, OR Oct 11th) whenever you need to talk about new additions to paintover..

And I totally agree.. the moderation on this forum drives me crazy too!

Hee...ok, I see your point. Sorry, I'm not a big fan of strict moderation, but this forum is undisputably the most coherent source of info on this topic, so I guess you guys must be doing something right. Wink
