Definitely remove the space from boingboing, that's the solve that worked for me anyway.

Thanks J
I removed the space and it worked!
Why is it so sensitive! With only 3 chances each day it is just so frustrating. It can so easily put you off the scent. You think your answer's right only to get an "incorrect".
It makes me want to take my hat off to all those heros who were playing back in Oct and Nov. It must have been virtually impossible.
Thanks again.

Could the list of numbers possibly be a book cipher based on one of the websites, or even just a simple substitution cipher. Just noticed the repetition of the sequence 27.55.25.

I just tried a letter count on the Metafilter site and ended up with EOOESPAWOOSCEBFOTOGAEOOIESVO (God I hope that's correct it's a lot harder that it looks). Then ROTed it to no avail. Maybe if it the right letters it's a difficult anagram? Or I maybe I'm just an idiot. Thanks for listening.

I have a feeling that the numbers make up an email address. It would explain the 500, which could be an @ symbol.
I think there is somthing odd about all of the 55s, but I don't know what it could be. There are five numbers between each of the last four 55s, but not between the first two.

Came across something while I was reading over Kurt's blog. In his entry for the 31st of August (when he discusses the interdepartmental meeting) he uses the word insights. I have a funny feeling that if the numbers are a book code/cipher then this could be the text we are to use. It was made early enough to have been written in relation to the card.
I've tried doing a bit of deciphering but I just end up with lots of vowels and not much else. Anyone else want to give it a go?

So is the general opinion that we need more information to solve this sequence of numbers?
I just got this card a did a bit of poking around. The IP addresses of the four websites on the card have no similarities to the sequence of numbers, nor can I pull any IPs out of the sequence that seem like promising leads to me.
The MetaFilter post on the card (this post ) is an article about some other ARG websites, which makes me think these numbers are related to a website or an email address, etc.
Anyone else still thinking about this one?

Anyone actually thought that it's a list of unseparated IP addresses?
Makes sence really...
I was my first thought, actually. There are the right amount of numbers there for it to be split into 7 seperate IP addresses.
But none of them actually respond to anything, one falls within a reserved private network range, and that 500 is completely out of place.
Maybe it is a IP address. the site might not be up yet and will be triggered by some event or we might be given some info from kurt about the numbers via his site or wave 3 or 4 card...... or we could e mail him about the numbers!!!!

I tried emailing Kurt about 4 weeks ago and so far nothing apart from the autoresponder email saying he'll get back to me as soon as possible. No clues in that email.

I think the key is figuring out what the 500 could be. Someone mentioned that it could be an @, making the sequence an email address. I can't find any ASCII (or other character sets) that have such a character code. I think others have tried to decipher/decode the other numbers in the sequence, but nothing seems to have come of that.
I thought the fact that there are four websites on the card might be a lead, but I'm not getting anywhere.
Other thoughts?

I've looked at various character sets to see if any correspond @ to the number 500 as well, but no luck there. I figure if it is an email address and if the 500 is @, then the last three numbers probably represent "com". (Because every site and email address in the game so far is a .com address. ) Which also doesn't help, as it only resolves four possible M's in the string and nothing else. Also, a quick count shows that there are 22 distinct numbers, which is a lot of variety for a relatively short string.
Code:
27 55 25 34 4 43 500 15 18 55 13 1 10 30 56 55 39 21 7 16 27 55 25 69 29 35 62 55
m @ m m m c o m
The only other repeaters I see are 25 and 27.
That's all I have. What about you guys?

Would Mind Candy entertain a question as to whether this sequence of numbers is more than the Perplex City skyline? If so, who do I ask? cardsSPLAT perplexcity.com?
Not sure if this is even allowed...

Just so no one else tries it...
I tried to apply a book cipher to the MetaFilter post, the Slashdot post, and the text on the card using the sequence of numbers (i.e. take the 27th letter, then the 55th letter, etc. -- just making sure I'm clear) and got nothing but gibberish.
[Edit: Also retried using Kurt's Aug 31 post as the key - no dice.]

Well I got a response from cardsSPLAT perplexcity.com:

Thanks for your email.
We're sorry but we can't give out any hints as to what the numbers mean.

Perplex City Customer Services
Oh well - worth a shot.
I'm stumped.
