So we saw this flux and burst of activity, and then down to nothing. Well, we saw the echoes,
anyhow.
Definitely not a human footprint. This is a whomp on a huge scale that I am not sure any ordinary
script could pack into such a little amount of access. The whole log is massive and ... well,
unbelievable. Except it happened. You guys saw it, you all saw the spike. I'm surprised this whole
subnet's not toast.

well, stuff got broken.
I cleaned and wiped as much as I could (saving the node spike stuff for myself, of course), and
then broke it even more. I had to; the oafs were stumbling all over the place, tripping alarms and
making a huge mess. Way to be a ballerina, Gerry Fleck. Of course, _'s got some medium-level
guys, and so I hung out until they could see my present to them. I pointed at the hole, tattled on

could texel refer to the buildings blocks of the matrix? like in 3d programming we use vertices to form triangles to apply textures to? Smile

Need To Now Correlate To Names On Web Sites In Game

So, with that in mind, how the hell do we decode A to O as actual names shown on the various web sites.

Seeing the bigger picture

Skeptical, I'm following your line of reasoning. I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more attention ... as I've been pondering the silvia files lately, the following thoughts have occurred to me:

1. We need to try to identify who said what to make any sense of the 'conversation' taking place in the carelessly and silvia sequences

2. In doing so, it may become easier for us to interpret the particular messages that seem cryptic ... context is often very helpful.

3. Now that he have two such sequences of files (conversations), our odds of figuring this out have improved tremendously.

I appreciate what you've done in the thread so far. One suggestion is that we need to number the carelessly files and silvia files differently so that we can distinguish one from the other. So perhaps the 7th silvia file should be S7, and the 7th carelessly file C7 so we can tell them apart in your compendium above. If you like the idea, you could edit your post above (Character ID Correlation) and add the Cs and Ss.

Another aid that can really help with this is by putting all the files together in a way that allows them to be browsed easily and in the context of the conversation. Yanka did a very nice job of this for the silvia files using a .doc. I've replicated what he did for the carelessly files (thanks to BriEnigma for the timestamp order and providing a convenient place to get the files), and have attached both to this post (using my proposed numbering system).

Some notes thusfar

Following what Skeptical had so far, with my ideas tacked on:

(C1 means carelessly file #1, S1 means silvia file #1, etc.)

A: mp3.jpg (and mp3.txt), C1, S10, S19 {calls himself Statik}
B: jpg, C2, S6, S16, S22 {S16 suggests this person is responsible for where conversation occurs ... posting the images at paintover?}
C: wsg.jpg C3, S12 {anyone else reference Hamlet anywhere ... in an IRC chat I think, tomatoes spelling suggests not American?}
D: gif.txt C4, S4 {gold star remark related to congratulations image?}
E: lhp.rtp C5, S8, S17 {expecting mello to arrive}
F: kbp.txt C6, S2, S7 {responds to Mello ... mlo?}
G: graffle.jpg C7, S5 {who would put together such an elaborate image for use in conversation?}
H: bh.gif C8, S1, S14 {Is this the labyrinth AI?}
I: m_u.wav C9, {no meaningful info other than counting self present}
J: txt C10, S11, S20, S24 {calls himself texel, refers to omni recognizing the phenomena is beyond a thunderstorm ... persons B, E, and F remark to that effect: one of them is omni}
K: goo.jpg C11, {fireworks in image suggest celebration?}
L: doc.jpg C12, S3, S15 {certainly a minimalist ... 3 words as images}
M: ypt.txt C13, S13, S21 {extremely cryptic, although I think S13 has potential due to structure}
N: qm2.html C14,{Strikes me as a message, latter part 'I am well, lots of happiness' ... Avery?}
O: mic.swf C15, S9, S18, S23 {calls himself Scratch}

Some more general ideas:

I guess we can take it that this group of folks will 'meet' on a weekly basis late Saturday/early Sunday to have this sort of conversation at a server location specified using information hidden in an image at paintover.

The first meeting which produced the carelessly files really didn't talk about much ... perhaps it was just a trial run to see if they could successfully get together in that way so that in future they could use this as a means to communicate (over long distances? secretly?).

The second meeting which produces the sylvia files was more substantive insofar as it talks about an event, the whomp/spike. S16 apologizes for having to move the location of the meeting ... which was more or less specified in the Oct. 11 paintover image. That stegged message from one of the Oct. 9 paintover images is at least a vague reference to where the silvia files would be found, but was not really enough to find them.

Re: Some notes thusfar

This is what I got:

A: mp3 - statik (think we all agree on that)
B: jpg - caesar, he found the first ftp site (and gave the clues), he responds to scratch
C: wsg
D: gif
E: lhp
F: kbp - melloc, mello being a nickname
G: graffle - I like the argument that this is omni (from the prog, OMNI graffle)
H: bh
I: m_u
J: txt - texel (definetly)
K: goo
L: doc - i dunno, but I find it interesting that the person using the WORD extension uses PICTURES of WORDS - only
M: ypt - interesting to note that this extension is from the program Cryptic, a document encoder/decoder
N: qm2
O: mic - Scratch

I dunno, i'm generally going on these assumptions right now.. they seem to work with the info given. Also, it should be noted that the extensions themselves may have meanings. Here's the wierder ones:
    wsg = words of worship song (Christian song lyric projection software)
    lhp = lighthouse organizer file (electric butterfly)
    kbp = Keirsey-Bates Temperament Sorter Profile
    bh = black hole archive format file (compression)
    m_u = MazeGold Critical File Backup (FAT, boot sectors, etc.)
    goo = Kai's Power Goo / Kai's Supergoo
    ypt = Cryptic File (File Encryption/Decryption – Cryptic, kndata)
    qm2 = Character File, Dragon Raja Online Game (E-Sofnet Products, Inc)
    mic = Image Composer File (shipped with Microsoft FrontPage, no longer sold)

That I like a lot ... I was contemplating malloc ... memory allocation in C ... but I like mlo=mello=malloc even better.
aegir wrote:

If true, this has an interesting implication: In S24, texel remarks that "omni was right - the layout here indicates more than just some thunderstorm or something". What that tells me is that texel could look at the silvia.graffle.jpg image and see that omni was communicating that something profound was taking place. I've spent a fair bit of time trying to understand the tarot spread ... maybe texel has done it for us!
aegir wrote:

Neat, so the file extension is acknowledging that the messages are cryptic in the extreme Surprised

Omni Graffle?

aegir wrote:

G: graffle - I like the argument that this is omni (from the prog, OMNI graffle)

One tricky thing about omni being the author of the graffle images: Only 2 minutes and 10 seconds elapse between when the graffle image is posted and when texel writes that last message (based on the timestamps, assuming the time the files were uploaded is when the 'conversation' occurred).

That means that texel can look at that image and determine omni's meaning very quickly. That would certainly support the notions I've been reading on the silvia files thread about not overinterpretting the graffle image. But then the question is: How can texel glance at that image and know that it communicates that a signficant event, beyond a simple lightning-strike produced power surge, has occurred in omni's opinion?

Either texel is remarkably familar with the Crowley deck and has exceptional eyes (for identifying the cards in no time at all), or the meaning of the image is a lot more obvious and has less to do with the specific cards and their position in the spread.

I don't think that this information in any way limits the idea that omni creates the graffle images. But it does constrain the way in which the silvia graffle can be interpretted, which is probably a positive thing Smile All we need to do now is figure out what texel can see in there. Then we'd have some mutually supporting evidence that omni is graffle and for how to read the tarot spread 3-moon image.

My thoughts exactly. None of the clues have required that much esoteric knowledge.
