Hi "x". Just out of interest, who are you? and why aren't you registered on the forums?

You sound like you have some nice ideas and it would be good to be able to track down your other posts relating to this and other cards.

doomsdayred, just wondering if you are a fan of the X-Files.

Just my thought but we might have a Mr x of our own. Either that or someone who really wants to help us get out of a rut.

Hell ask him if he likes Motorbikes.

I like this idea. Now, the chances of Garnet being an Earth-motorbike expert aren't exactly high, but its worth a shot. And i think asking him if he can identify a picture of a motorbike isn't quite directly related to the cube hunt, if its phrased correctly. The thing is, though, that itll seem like a bit of a weird question to just out of nowhere ask him about motorbikes. Maybe we could pretend to be doing research of Perplexians' hobbies and ask him if he has any other hobbies/interests, and try to pry out of him if he knows about motorbikes....but TBH it doesn't sound like the best approach

What about a query around transport? We know they use a metro type system, and they are aware of old style cars (from Scarlett), but I'm not sure there's been any details about other types of transport.

I have had the applet running but could not get anywhere, What you may need is the lastest java update which came out yesterday to get it working

!

Unfortunately, I don't think that applet will help. It is for cracking monoalphabetic ciphers -- however, the Solitaire cipher is not monoalphabetic, I believe.

Perhaps there are two ciphers in the text. Maybe the outside, heat-sensitive groups of text (the "outward looks") will decrypt into a keyphrase to use for the inner, main text.

Maybe the text is even ciphered twice?

I think so too. But it could be very useful in solving Ciphers of History. Hally, you might want to post in that thread (wouldn't want to steal the credit - nice find).

I am a Troll, and a Lurker.

I have a registerd account, i dont like to use it.
.
I have played Sable+Shuck, and Virtucube.
Currently im working on Riemann and Shuffled.

Im X or xar usually. Math puzzles are my thing.
Ive read into the game as far as i need to to figure out these cards.

I also tinker with the Card Set puzzles, ie the Prime numberd cards. And the other game world type puzzles. The rest of the cards have been too easy for me. So im stuck with the impossible ones lol. Personally i dont care about the leader board, i think competing is a joke really. Ill watch and help when i can, but im not really gonna go to live events or buy cards or participate in emails or any aspect of the game beyond brainstorming and throwing out ideas. Ill happily get into a math discussion if anyone cares to get that deep into one of the puzzles. ...

I must say as an ARG, this is going much better than some ive watched. At least when the players mess stuff up, people die, the game changes and we move on to a new future. I like that. This feels like we could actually lose the cube and never find it. ... Hell perhaps we can join the likes of 3P and turn rogue. Screw Sente! lol.

Ill be around. But dont expect me to respond right away. Sometimes its several days before i can post again. But glad somone noticed me =D

Dear Mr Reed,

Please forgive me by botherng you with this question but I notice from your Academy profile that you are a keen sportsman (mountaineering, white water rafting) and as a motorsport enthusiast I thought you might be the best person to contact. I found it interesting that Perplex City uses a similar underground transportation system to some of our major Earth cities like London and New York. I was wondering if you also use the other forms of transport we have: car, motorbike or bicycle. I personally am particularly interested in Motorbikes, so if Perplex City does have similar trasportation methods which would be the most famous manufacturers or individual models.

Are you aware of any Earth based motorbike brands? If so which ones are most famous over there and have any been used to advertise other products or have any become an almost iconic model?

This next one is pretty damn close but the angle of the photo sucks so it's hard to know for sure.

Found this website:

Thought it might be useful, the explanation of the solitaire cipher seems to be simpler than the schnier explanation. Maybe one of the solutions might help as well.

Decided to have a look at the reverse of the card and googled Scrodinger, which lead to this:

http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:sWhdMYLaLfQJ:www-math.univ-fcomte.fr/pp_Annu/JCRESSON/cressonJMP.pdf+schrodinger+djinn&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=7&lr=lang_en&client=firefox-a[url]

There are talks of a 'Djinn variable'. Not sure if this is relevant, but I don't really know what any of the document means. Any thoughts?
