[UPDATE] Path of Least time - 7th Feb - 2006

Stars
I spotted a tail from Helena Frye's secret police force (or whatever it's called) today. I was visiting my friend Leo at Security this morning, and noticed a guy in a dark brown coat loitering in the lobby. I'm sure I'd seen him before on the street, and sure enough, when I was on my way out, he gave me a little ironic salute. Now, unless hiring standards have suddenly dropped at the police, this guy was obviously meant to be seen, and meant to show that Frye hadn't forgotten about our bargain.
I'm glad that you guys on Earth haven't forgotten either; it was a nice piece of work that you did, pretending to be a new employee to get the filesystem password at Hesh (it's s3cur1tyh0l3). It's scandalous how poor security procedures are at some companies. Still, in the case of Hesh, I'm glad that their sysadmin wasn't on the ball.
I don't have any clues about the file in Cyrus' folder though. It spells out a question in code, "enter those who know what the builder called men under my star", which sounds awfully like some Cubehead nonsense. I did a quick search of the scriptures, but there are reams of them with different translations and revisions. Even worse, they're not all digitised. I've asked Violet about this, but I don't think she knows either. In any case, it's useless until we know exactly what it is we're looking for.

ah, sorry about that - I had to pick one and the date did affect the choice but it happens to us all I'm going to go ahead and delete the duplicate post, though, to reduce confusion.
So are we missing some piece of information that we've been previously given here?

I think its more likely that some new clue will arise from either tomorrows event or the live events. The timing of this alejo thing is just a bit too coincidental to me. I think its going to be MC's way of giving us clues that they wouldn't otherwise have had a way of sensibly passing over. We don't know much about alejo other than that hes a musician, so he could be into any kind of scene or cult, and he might be looking to give us info about something, hence the arrangement of this talk.

I can't find reference on the Sentinel now, but wasn't Alejo (or a fellow band-member) outed as a member of the Brotherhood a few months back?

It was Keenan "KT" Thoreau, the bass player
(see: http://wiki.incognitus.net/ppc/index.php/Keenan_Thoreau
and: http://www.perplexcitysentinel.com/archives/2005/07/kt_a_reconstruc.html )

*edit*
(bah, too slow.)
So Alejo could easily be familiar with KT's beliefs and related info.
PS. Just so we don't get anyone mixed up, Brotherhood /= Reconstructionists. (KT is a recon, like Aiko.)

The way Kurt has worded his info makes me feel like we've missed something. [SPEC] Possibly something has been mentioned before, and they'll use the Alejo interview to remind us of it.
Maybe, possibly, oh bah!

It's possible he knows Cyrus' birthday too. I can't shake the feeling that 'under my star' means his astrological sign.

That's what we've been discussing here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=218963#218963 i.e. ways to slip starsigns/futures into the conversation, without sounding too conspicuous of course .
I hope this works, as I agree that 'under my star' sounds as if it should be his starsign that's the key. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Ok...now I *am* confused...
As far as I knew, the Brotherhood of the Six are one of the original Cubist religious sects. These are the fellas with the really bad website , the ceremonies involving snow and Sister Flynnt amongst it's membership.
There is also now the Brotherhood of the Old Town - an offshoot branch, who Violet advised us are basically just a bunch of old duffers who have a large membership due to their most excellent parties .
Then we have the Recons, or the Reconstructionists - they are a smaller, more radical splinter group, who have their own compound, just South of the Mazy River. It is this self-sufficient settlement which Violet and Kurt infiltrated . Information which was found as a result of this gave us a list of members, including Keenan Thoreau (K.T. from RFD) and Aiko Entrescore (Puzzle Scribe/CRT member) - who we managed to "out".
Confuuuuused.

Er, hm. The way I saw it, Juxta, was that at the time of Gyvann or immediately following, there was a group called the Brotherhood of the Six. Gyvann was the author/voice behind the Book of the Six, which probably amounts to a Bible or suchlike. (Who/what are the Six? Good question.)
Fast-forwarding to now, the Brotherhood in Old Town is the same Brotherhood that Violet refers to and is the "Brotherhoodofthesix" behind the website. They took the name to claim themselves as legitimate successors to the original Bot6.

Heh, yes Cassandra/Jo...I've managed to confuse myself even more too - but I can answer the question of who/what the "Six" are.
Quote:
The sixfold beliefs of The Brotherhood of the Six may represent a path of light for all forms of cubism. It is as follows:
1. That the purpose of human life is to achieve a mystical one-ness with the holy object The Cube.
2. Although the Cube is presently Incarnated, its true essence is mystical and cannot be understood by humans except by the granting of divine inspiration.
3. That one-ness can be achieved by meditation, prayer, good works and acts of construction.
4. That the Holy Gyvann The Builder was the first to achieve one-ness. He shows us the way, he leads us to ascend the cube-shaped steps.
5. That Gyvann's Book of The Six contains all that is real or true in the universe.
6. That the Universe, like the Cube, is unending, complete and stable in its Holy One-ness.
So...clear as mud then. Perhaps question one tomorrow night should be "Alejo - as a man of faith, can you give us a quick rundown on the backgrounds to all of the major religious sects, cults and whacko groups in the city?"

The wiki is not quite accurate on this point, and Kurt's blog entry on the Brotherhood being the ones requiring him to fake an epiphany is quite wrong. They were at the Reconstructionist compound at the time.
Edit:
Actually, the current Brotherhood of the Six' sixfold path post-dates Gyvann's "Book of the Six." Gyvann may have a different set of six rules for the points of a Cube, or even may describe six universes, six beings, six alternate personas, etc.
