I actually thought it was someone else at first, I've been debunking this scientology dude since early last night. Come to think of it, this could still be him. Heck if I know. Fun stuff, yo. Does this belong to another gaim?

EDIT: Found one Neil Magnusson here. Hanso foundation? Don't tell me the first arg we see for LOST has to me a gaim...

Hey, neat.

I've heard about this, but I'm not sure if it's legit. I think some people have speculated that it's fan-run.

There's a HUGE discussion thread on LOST-TV.com if you want to read about it. They've been following it since the beginning.

Basically, someone typed in https://www.thehansofoundation.org back in December or so, and there was a link to http://www.bigspaceship1.com . For a while it just spouted nonsense (random updates with extremely loose ties to the actual show). Around mid-December, during the show's hiatus, the webpage linked to a chatroom. It was kind of crazy for a while, until a member named "walt" started talking about being taken captive and held in an underwater facility. Eventually, he sent an e-mail to one of the chatters of a document he found in the facility. Since then it has spawned a bunch of small websites that link together and tell some sort of story.

This is the best summary I've seen:

First, someone named MARTIN said lead to this Purevolume site:
http://purevolume.com/driveshaftuk

A link in this page lead us to:
http://purevolume.com/oeiltransmissionpost

This page showed a bunch of obscure images and morse code-filled blogs that related to the show, as well as some strange audio clips that could be deciphered using a translation key. After a while an audio clip called "Valentine" showed up, and around the same time a member named Valentine Chauliac joined as one of their friends. This brought us to her Purevolume profile:
http://purevolume.com/listeners/valentinechauliac

From a link on her profile there we were brought to her Myspace profile:
http://myspace.com/valentinechauliac

There, she posted some blog updates and it turned out she was a journalist. We also learned that she had a fiance named Niel. Her first friend on the profile was Niel Magnusson:
http://myspace.com/nielmagnusson

Niel posted a blog entry stuff with a hidden message telling us to "view source," so by doing that it lead to Valentine's younger sister's website:
http://oliviechauliac.atspace.com

There was a puzzle here where you had to figure out her e-mail address, and when that was figured out it brought us to this page:
http://oliviechauliac.atspace.com/secure.htm

This was another puzzle, and when we found it out it lead to:
http://athene86.livejournal.com

There was a lot of puzzles and story-related things I left out, but that's pretty much all there is now. We got an e-mail from a person named Ndidi who is looking for her brother Jason. We also found out that a man named Mr. Lynch works with Niel, and that Niel's photographer's name is Penelope Toomey. Right now we're looking for Mr. Lynch, Penelope Toomey, and a man named James Pallanti.

Also, a "hacker" named leyaLALA edited some of the Purevolume sites, and by clues in a poem we got her e-mail address. From there we figured out how to contact something called the Vloeistof Society, and the Society mentioned it was taking only six initiates. Six members were accepted by James Pallanti. His replies to their e-mails featured some spelling mistakes, but when put together these mistakes ended up spelling the word "etoile." The initiates are currently awaiting information from the hacker on how to access the Society's webpage.

Again, it's probably fan-run or something, so who knows if it's worth following.

Ive seen the term 'dreamer' dealing with the iamthepossum, but cant say this belongs there because I'm not following it.

did anybody else notice the tie-ins to greek mythology? I searched Apotropaeus and a wiki for Apollo (who also appears in this conversation), one of the greek gods. Apotropaeus can up as "he who averts evil"

PS: the god of dreams is Morpheus

'dreamer' is also Sarah Fisher's IRC name in Another Contest Worth Entering.

'Tis a popular name.

Maybe it's a melting pot of other ARGs?

Also, can we change this title? Nobody will know what it is...

By the rot-7 used in iamthepossum, the text fk yerr becomes mr flyy. Rot-7 has been used in iamthepossum in IM for tiffletaff7's contact. I don't know if it means anything, but there it is.

Considering CreativeEmbassy said it, I doubt a connection.

Unless of course he is some kind of spy.

And look: we even have a thread on all that stuff here. If anyone wants to deal with those sites, please do it in that thread. GAIM people should just stay here.

Yay for GAIM people! Very Happy

I dunno, I really like LOST and all, but the progression of websites just seems odd. Maybe someone is starting a new game based off of those websites? Anyway, I would look at the name Niel more than the dreamer. Half of the ARGs we've seen in the past year incorporated a dreamer or dreams, but Niel Magnusson is really only mentioned at that myspace spot, unless someone else can find another webpage about him. Does someone know a dreamer in the other LOST arg?
