They wanted our address to send "prizes" right. Methinks its for death threats.

It could explain why his file space is still on the server after he left. Normally it would of been deleted, especially if they have just done an upgrade of the site.
On the other hand, the personal space is just that, personal so perhaps he didnt think the system would be become so insecure that pesky Earthlings would hack their way in to look

But if Kevin is so willing to sack someone and say look I know we have been hacked by these posts why not close off the system totally?

But at the end of the day would you sitck murder evidence on a server which other people have access to. It dosent make sense. Why not put it on a super secure key if you dont want it to be seen?

So does this imply that the file is a threat? Toward us? Were we meant to find it, or was he intending on sending it at a later date and we happened to find it early? I'm guessing we were meant to find it. Cyrus quit on his own accord, right? (I don't remember the circumstances of his departure clearly.) Typically, when you quit on your own, you clean your machine, make backups of the stuff you want to take with you, etc. You wouldn't leave something like that around unless (1) you meant for people to find it or (2) you were forcefully fired and didn't have time to get to your machine to remove the file.

Just wanted to pop in and say:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Regardless of whether the man in the recording is Cyrus, it's definitely V. Monica clearly stated that V killed her (that's how we found out that V was male).
As for Cyrus being V I'm starting to have my doubts now. Why would V keep a file like that around? Naturally he's a bit twisted but he doesn't seem STUPID. What if Cyrus really did stumble on this somewhere and that's how he knew that the third power kill people?
Ahhh... Fresh spec. How fun

I think it is clearly a threat. I was too hasty originally and now I have thought about it read other posts and thoughts this was totally a set up.
firstly why leave a file so incriminating on the server. It had to be planted. At the same time we were social engineering so were others
The file itself points to them knowing members on earth - we know who you are (okay should we post watch on these houses (jk)?) only one reason to do this - scare us off
If we all jump to the wrong conclusions as to who V is V can actually walk more freely in real life and we could possibly put others like Kurt and Violet in more danger
A lot of this is thinking aloud

This is completely non-relevant, but just been watching Tuesdays Battlestar Galactica and realised that the music playing in the background at the end is the same as on that recording of Monica dying...

Have we now been locked out of the file section of the hesh site? (I'm willing to concede it may be my laptop being pants if people are getting in ok still?)
Has anyone got a copy of the sound file taken from the personal area as I now cannot seem to get at it?

I think the answer to that is in both the hidden text about being watched and the article about the Kaplan's in the sentinel avoiding the key system.
I think Key's are possibly insecure and that maybe there is someone influential being a "big brother" out there.
An internal network protected by a password that only "friendlies" should be able to figure out in the event of your "disappearance" is safer. My guess would be someone at Hesh is watching Cyrus' back in someway and should he die then they would check out his personal files and solve the riddle thus finding incriminating evidence against his likely killer.
The insert acts an additional warning against Helena Frye or potentially informs them who to contact. It will be interesting to see what Kurt & Helena make of this info.

so what now?
do we take this as a message of disengagement? watch were you tread we know who you are - well those who went to Clapham at least!
where do we go from here.
I suspect we would have been expected to mail kurt, get him sent on some crazy mission seeking out Cyrus from which he would wind up dead (sorry Mokey I know you worry about this!) and we with less contact in perplex and Violet possibly in hiding (where is she btw?)
So should we warn Kurt something is amiss?
EDIT
if we are looking for Cyrus and this is a trap we need to be careful - this is to be expected - this is what they want. he is being watched. thinking aloud again

And for completeness, here are the file URLs within the file system:
http://www.hesh-intranet.com/heshencrypted/data/7kfcii9d0hkx2y91r8v8mh9acmq6a3y5/insert.mp3
http://www.hesh-intranet.com/heshencrypted/data/89rlu6ing23wfz13dlwlbpkj336e2326/track_3.mp3
Easier than typing all those passwords
EDIT: Anyone else wondering if the long strings of gibberish in the file paths actually mean something? mime encoded data? md5 strings? Okay, just me then?
EDIT2: Yeah, I know that all the files have similar gibberish not just these 2 and that it's most likely just security by obscurity... But you never know!
