LAX popped into the chat room today and i entertained him for a while. and it looks like tomorrow i go a huntin...anyone else in ohio?

[14:56] teh_lisa: is there any signifigance to the places where the posters are located?

[14:58] teh_lisa: for instance the junior high in srkansas
[14:58] teh_lisa: does that school mean something special to you?
[14:58] teh_lisa: or it was just a random place
[14:59] LAX: Nothing. There were so many people who contacted me that it would have been hard for me to place them in every location that is special to me in some way without making people drive for hours on end to find them.

[14:59] teh_lisa: i hope there is one somewhere in the midwest...treasure hunts are fun

[15:00] teh_lisa: eh not too picky ohio would be the best but i have driven further for things like posters with clues Smile

[15:02] teh_lisa: although i would imagine you were rather hurried
[15:02] LAX: Yes, very hurried.
[15:02] LAX: I had some help for the overseas locations.
[15:03] teh_lisa: oh well that's good
[15:03] teh_lisa: it would have been a lot of traveling for one person
[15:03] LAX: That is true.
[15:04] LAX: Can I ask you something?
[15:04] teh_lisa: of course
[15:04] LAX: What do you do?
[15:04] teh_lisa: i have a degree in experimental psychology but right now i stay at home
[15:04] teh_lisa: up until december i was a bartender for a long time though
[15:04] LAX: "experimental psychology"?
[15:04] teh_lisa: which is basically the same thing as experimental psychology
[15:04] teh_lisa: its not as weird as it sounds
[15:05] teh_lisa: i do research on cognition
[15:05] LAX: no brainwashing involved I hope.
[15:05] teh_lisa: mental arithmetic to be exact
[15:05] teh_lisa: nope no brain washing
[15:05] teh_lisa: we would have people do mental math and time them using computer programs
[15:05] LAX: Interesting. What made you go into that?
[15:05] teh_lisa: i found a professor i really liked
[15:05] teh_lisa: but then i decided i didnt really like it anymore
[15:06] teh_lisa: so i didnt finish my master's
[15:06] teh_lisa: why do you ask?
[15:06] LAX: Interested in knowing about people and what makes them tick.
[15:06] teh_lisa: me too
[15:06] teh_lisa: do you have any hobbies?
[15:07] LAX: You mean besides looking like a stalker?
[15:07] teh_lisa: well yeah besides that
[15:07] teh_lisa: heh
[15:07] LAX: Not really. Nothing interesting.
[15:07] teh_lisa: do you like music?
[15:07] LAX: Yeah.
[15:07] teh_lisa: what kind?
[15:08] LAX: Everything but country... mostly things that have a good message behind them.
[15:08] teh_lisa: yeah i don't like country either
[15:08] teh_lisa: i mostly like hip hop but not the kind you hear on the radio
[15:08] LAX: Do you know who "The Party" is?
[15:09] * LAX is showing his age here.
[15:09] teh_lisa: hrmmm nope and the results on allmusic arent helpful Smile

[15:10] LAX: yeah, they are kind of old.
[15:10] LAX: And unkown.
[15:10] teh_lisa: whats a song of theirs?
[15:10] LAX: Let me get my cassette tape and I'll tell ya. Smile

[15:11] LAX: Yeah, I'm sure... I'm not that old.

[15:15] LAX: That's the problem with not thinking ahead.

[15:16] teh_lisa: otherwise you would never get anything done

[15:16] teh_lisa: you would spend all of your time thinking ahead
[15:16] LAX: But it also helps to make sure that you have covered all of your bases.
[15:17] LAX: And how can you do that without having a plan for if something happens?
[15:17] teh_lisa: right i think planning is good but dont over do it
[15:18] LAX: Plus plans change.
[15:18] teh_lisa: yes they sure do
[15:19] LAX: I thought I was going to be able to talk to Sarah after joining the military. Boy, how that changed in a hurry.
[15:19] teh_lisa: yeah you ran fast
[15:19] LAX: I had no choice in the matter.
[15:19] teh_lisa: you know it might be good to talk to her
[15:19] teh_lisa: whys that?
[15:19] LAX: You are not your own boss when you join the military.
[15:20] teh_lisa: yep
[15:20] LAX: When I joined they had me take some language tests.
[15:20] teh_lisa: what kind?
[15:20] LAX: They put you in a room with a group of about 20 other people and make you listen to tapes with a certain language on it.
[15:21] teh_lisa: to go to another country?
[15:21] LAX: Yes. But I didn't know that.
[15:21] teh_lisa: you didnt put 2 and 2 together?
[15:21] LAX: I thought nothing of it so didn't even try to fail it.
[15:21] LAX: I hadn't even gone to basic at that time.
[15:21] LAX: I was still in the registration process.
[15:21] teh_lisa: they were weeding out the natural language people i bet
[15:22] LAX: Yep.
[15:22] LAX: That was the conclusion that I came to later.
[15:22] teh_lisa: they are smart like that
[15:22] LAX: It came back to bite me in the butt after Basic and AIT finished.
[15:22] teh_lisa: where did they send you?
[15:23] LAX: Bosnia first.
[15:23] teh_lisa: ick
[15:23] LAX: Then to Korea.
[15:23] teh_lisa: a bit better
[15:23] LAX: The "kicker" was that we had to cut all personal ties that we had outside of the military.
[15:23] teh_lisa: oh
[15:23] teh_lisa: i see where this is going
[15:24] LAX: yeah.
[15:24] teh_lisa: but what i meant by you ran fast was in the room at the drawing
[15:24] teh_lisa: this explins why you lost contact with her before though
[15:24] teh_lisa: and sucks
[15:24] LAX: There is no explination that I could have given her.
[15:24] LAX: I'm not supposed to exist.
[15:25] LAX: How do you tell someone that?
[15:25] teh_lisa: wow its like real life '24'
[15:25] LAX: "I loved you and still do but, sorry, can't talk to you. Gotta run."

[15:25] teh_lisa: yeah there isnt a good way to go into that kind of situation
[15:26] LAX: No, there isn't. One day I will be out of the military and be able to talk to her again.

[15:26] LAX: I have been made aware of that.
[15:27] teh_lisa: so what do you do?
