I'm contemplating a defection to Team Waffle.... Sad
The deal is that I'm going to have a very loaded weekend the weekend prior -- two Halloween parties, one on Friday night and one on Saturday night. Then I'm contemplating a very early flight to Miami on Sunday for a family obligation thing, flying back to Atlanta on Monday afternoon.

So I don't know if I'm going to be up for a 7-hour car ride that Friday, and that Sunday. There's still the possibility of a last-minute cheep flight for the trip, but if I have to drive, I'm thinking no.

If you can make the 2.5 hr drive to West Palm Beach you can ride up with me, I need an excuse to get me off the maybe fence.

Err...let me clarify. I would be in Miami the weekend prior. And then back to Atlanta for the week before the Arg-O-Fest. So W. Palm would be a mite bit out of my way. Sorry!

Team Waffle=College Students. Unless you were using it in a way to say you are "broke as a college student" then.

Team Vegas Coming to Orlando

Yes, we've bought the package (tickets, hotel & rental car).

konamouse & konashark (aka "my hubby") will arrive on the evening of Nov 5th, leaving Nov 10th.

Oh, and thanks for the heads up about the Kennedy Space Center - we've signed up for the adult "Space Camp" on Thursday, Nov 6th!

Looking forward to seeing you all (some of you 'again') and both Epcot & Universal Adventure Park.

Ah. I thought it more as folk who are waffling back & forth on whether they were going to show or not.

Or maybe those folk who just like singing the Waffle House songs on the jukebox.

/me orders a pecan waffle, large OJ, and a scattered, smothered, covered, and capped.

So glad you both can make it! (You're welcome about the ATX.)

On another note, I know people have been adding and dropping in the past couple weeks, and it would be great to have a more accurate list of those attending and those still on the fence. Should we attempt a recount here?

Second Head count

OK, OK, I've had my arm twisted enough...

I am going but my current room mate has a work conflict and will probably not be attending.

At this point I am looking for a female room mate, non-smoker.

Just an FYI, I do use a BiPAP to sleep at night (helps me breathe), which is fairly quiet - it is a lot quieter than me snoring! But if you are very sensetive to sound bring earplugs!
I'm looking at arriving Friday evening aroung 9 or 10 pm, and leaving sometime Sunday.

PM me and we can coordinate.

Steffeny

***EDIT***
My current roomate is still not quite certain she can attend yet, but we can get a roll way bed if we end up with an additional roomie. If you are still thinking about going but don't know where you will be roosting, pm me or e-mail...

Priceline

I wanted to post this info for those of you who still need rooms. There are such good deals to be had that some of you who already have rooms may want to check it out anyway and cancel your original reservation!

Priceline has rooms in Orlando. They run the gamut from standard rooms to 5-star properties, but the prices are a helluva lot lower when you use Priceline than if you book directly with the hotels.

Step one: go to bidding for travel's orlando page

Step two: see what's already been successfully bid for the date & hotel category you want

Step three: go to www.priceline.com and place your bid

I've used Priceline to stay at the Wyndham on Int'l Dive for $39/nite (normally $129+up). I saw the Gaylord Palms (a 5-star resort property which normally goes for at least $200/nite) for $75/nite Nov. 7-9.

Good luck with your bidding, and let us know how you did.

Hotel Category

If anyone wants to bid, bear in mind that most of us are staying in the Universal/Seaworld area, as far as Priceline is concerned. When bidding, I would recommend the 3-star category. If your first bid isn't accepted, add a few dollars and go up a star. You'll still get the area you want and the worst thing that happens is you get a better room, although you'll probably get the 3-star room you originally wanted unless you increase your bid more dramatically the second time. Just be sure to look at other successful bids.

I should also clarify that my success with the Wyndham was in the past, and not for this trip, so use that as an example, and not as a guide to current bidding. Sorry if I misled anyone; that wasn't my intention. The information I listed for the Gaylord Palms (which is where I'd be staying if my dog wasn't coming with me) is current and can be found on the bidding for travel page.
