Tips from a Treasure Hunter

Holy crap, that's one easter egg all right! That treasure chest is crazy, expecially as I live at LAX. Thanks for the clue in, jjmfdl. I'd done the pictures in reverse order so it never came up.

Here's a compliation of what I've got so far:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. Australian States:
We've seen a couple different numbers, but most of us see 6 the most.

2. New Zealand Mainland
Still looking.

3. Leyton's Favorite Play
If its a baseball play instead of a theatrical play, he could mean the triple. (3)

4. All Dressed Up
Might be "All dressed up and nowhere 2 go." Might be "dressed to the 9s."

5. Bali Letters
There's 4 letters in Bali, though that's pretty simple.

6. 1842
Sheesh, too much info! How to narrow this down?!
EDIT: I read the clue wrong, its actually 1B42. As in one before two or won before too.

7. Ostrich Egg
0 is a good guess (as it looks a bit like it.) My boyfriend from Michigan said zeroes were called "goose eggs," which I've never heard in Cali but its pretty close to ostrich. Looking up ostrich eggs leads you to billions of different numbers, and none of them obvious, so it's probably not that route.

8. Crazy
I don't play poker, but I do play Crazy 8s.

9. PCH
Pacific Coast Highway in California (by the way, this is the highway that runs directly underneath LAX) is highway number 1. Best lead I have so far, though it might be too specific for non cali residents.

10. Hong Kong Territories
Nothing yet. My only lead is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Territories

I will edit this post in a few minutes, once I get guesses for my missing few.

I just noticed soemthing... on the opening page if you feed the tokens in yes the last one is 1000 I just noticed that a one appears when you feed it...
so that makes
1 on jockey
1188 for the deadmans hands... (debate ranges on the fifth card...)
1 from poker chip...

88?

Oh yeah, there's the two ones on that first page. I'm not sure if you're supposed to combine them somehow to keep them seperate. I also thought it could mean 1 as in "won," though I haven't given much thought to it yet. Are these some of the six "treasure chest clues" instead of the digit clues (depsite being numbers?) Because then Triple 4 and the fortune cookie would go in there too.

WARNING! I just want to let you all know about this.

Turns out that the creators of Stranger Adventures, are trying, in essence, to patent ARGs.

Thus, some people, myself included, will be, at the very least, Boycotting this game.

Ah geez. First ARG I get into, and already there's a problem with it. Well, hopefully things aren't as insidious as everyone thinks it might be.

At any rate, here's my take on #2:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The South Island is referred to as "The New Zealand Mainland," and its international calling code is 3 (following the code for New Zealand, which is 64).

And I got 8 for Australian States.

For the time-being, at least until we get the wording clarified (and their purpose behind it), I will not boycott this game.

I will, however, stand against any movement to patent ARGs, and I would like to believe that this company knows better than to try to monopolize the genre.

When we have more certain information regarding their intentions, I will make up my mind whether to continue playing. Until then, I hope to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Well... this really isn't an ARG. And there is no proof of them actually persuing this patent.

I think boycotting as a whole in an inefficient, totally useless way of stating your views. Want to really make a difference? Write a letter expressing our community's views.

I won't be boycotting this. However, I won't be playing the ARG because it immediately feels rushed and unorganized.

Loop hole one:Previous establishment prior to patent would make it so a comapny could continue as long as they can prove this...

loop hole two: ARG's in thier interity could not unless you want to take down every gaming site on the web, due to the varied nature of the games args take...

yes they could try and trade mark the term arg though...

Now no more of this un relateed talk...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Australia has 6 states and 2 territories...

Treasure chest one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Leap year? as in 29?
