Sorry if you took it as patronising-I meant that it'll be so obvious who we are-due to leitmarks/card/general loudness and banter-we may as well all be carrying big pink balloons.
However confusing strangers, particularly pensioners, is a large part of these events-we really should keep a tally of the number of people we scare this time.
Re being welcoming-I've made an open invitation to a load of strangers, including new people, to come and have breakfast with me.

Re - balloons
Your explanation does make more sense now. Perhaps it's a weekend of partying that's prevented my brain from working properly
EDIT (more time!)

This is true, but being made to feel a bit stupid for asking what seemed (to me) like a reasonable question doesn't seem to suggest that people would be particularly friendly on Sat morning either.
Perhaps it's my bad luck with the type of people I met from another forum that's making me paranoid...
Anyway...maybe I'll bring you a pink balloon if I can find any in my stock cupboard

We should give free cards to anyone that turns up with a pink balloon now.

Oh Yes, oh yes, oh yes.
10 free cards to anyone who brings a helium filled pink ballon.
(and minus twenty cards to anyone who says 'I love Sente' after breathing in the helium)

It'll take 5 mins to walk to the 'base camp', so about 11.50.

*prepares for sudden rush of people deciding to get there early too, so as not to be beaten by a self confessed idiot*
