I've updated the reference.

Really sorry for throwing everyone off with the postcard6/postcard20 golden rule thing.

I asked Jack about the locations of the posters, wether they haven been posted mainly to the US or not, and this is what he answered. Maybe it is of any help for you:
Quote:
The organization that I work for is based in the United States. Given that, most of the posters are located there. However, one of my contacts is located in the UK and has, thus, posted one of the posters in that location. There has been one posted in the Netherlands as well, but I am having trouble getting an exact fix on it's location.

Postcard #17

holding grey and/or brown filters up to the image and turning it clockwise, one can make out the letters:

DEPCAYH
JACYHASYJC

the only one I'm really unsure of is the second J in the second line. It doesn't look like the first J but there aren't any other letters I could see it being other than S

I saw this too..but it doesnt fit with the palmtree lined Blvd. im definetly thinking LA or maybe Possibly Santa Barbara area. My husband mentioned that Monterey was the First Capital, and thus refered to as Primo maybe. We could make it to SB or Monterey but I dont know if the poster will be up anymore. Sad

Myeerah, perhaps Paramount? Isn't that a city? Or as a joke, El Segundo?

I dunno, I been beating my head up against walls most of the day trying to figure out the still-unsolved cards. Personally, I'd say the clue is a bit too vague/general. Primo means First or Prime or Most or Nicest - lotsa meanings too many!

yay. my first puzzle.

http://anothercontestworthentering.com/postcard2.bmp

the numbers are not (natural) binary because in groups of 8 there is a remainder of 4, so I scoured the internet for 4 digit codes and stumbled on this page.

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/electronic/numsys.html

As soon as I saw "Gray Code" I figured that must be it since the gray box is circled in the postcard. Converted the numbers from their gray code to their base. Kender nudged me with 0=space, 1=a, 2=b, etc... and you get "name of lab making code"

A quick search online at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_code

and you find Bell Labs.

so the answer is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

After emailing Jason Young about a pest control for fleas, I sent Jack an email informing him of Jason's newly discovered contact info and asked him if he might offer any hints on some of the remaining postcards. Jack offered me this response:

Quote:
Thank you for the information. I will be sure to use it to the best of my abilities.

Because you have provided me with information, I will do the same for you. Starting with postcard16 - The crop circle.

"Yes, No. Even, Odd. Light, Dark. These are just some of the things that come to mind when I think about how to solve this puzzle. However, what these things have in common is not what you should find out. It is what they represent that matters."

LAX

So, we have a new clue to work with for http://www.anothercontestworthentering.com/postcard16.jpg

I'd like to ask anyone who has had recent contact with any characters from this game to share their content. It would be good to assume that Jack does not know what Sarah, Kevin or Jason know and offering info to Jack in return for postcard hints may help us get to those posters faster. Surely they won't stay up on in their locations forever.

Thanks!

the only thing that comes to mind from Jack's hint is that what he said is a bunch of adjective opposite words - descriptive antonyms, different viewpoints. He says not to think about what's common, however, what those words represent is what they have in common too, so I'm stumped, as usual.

THe different viewpoints of crop circles is "paranormal/extraterrestrial" and "man-made" but I assume what the postcard represents is more specific than that. So I guess I have nothing useable to add. Just my POV.

I had an idea last night...but it didn't work. I've since emailed Jack about it...maybe he can clear it up.

My idea:

We can consider the crop circle to be just a hub with 5 spokes. Going clockwise from lower right (the spoke with the little nub thing) to upper right (the spoke with the hollow circle at the end) and reading from inside to outside, we can organize the symbols like this:

oooo/ooO/OO/oO/Oo

Now...opposite words --> on/off --> Morse Code...

.... ..- -- .- -. = human

And, http://www.anothercontestworthentering.com/human.html ....doesn't work. So, I haven't been able to figure out anything past there.
