Casting Call for an ARG Variant

Hey, folks,

You probably remember HaxanMike and I from some previous ARGs, and you might remember last year when ARGN wrote about an interesting altered reality project run by our buddy Jeff Wirth at the University of Central Florida. This spring, in conjunction with the Florida Film Festival we're trying a new kind of experiment that blends together the approaches of interactive theater and alternate reality gaming.

We're not sure you'll end up calling the end product an ARG by any traditional definition of the word, but it bears alot in common. The biggest difference from an ARG audience's perspective is a bit of a reversal on the traditional roles of "puppetmaster" and "player". As part of that, we're looking to recruit a set of ARGers willing to play the role of inter-actors (which bear a lot of resemble to puppetmasters playing a character) in an immersive experience for two spect-actors ("players") who's experience crosses both the online and physical spaces.

For those of you experienced with ARGs (and even PMing ARGs) this is interesting opportunity to experiment in a slightly different model of collaborative interaction fiction. For those of you who always wanted to get a little taste of what it feels like to be on the other side of the curtain, this is an equally interesting opportunity to experience a different model of that.

If you're curious, please feel free to head over to our casting call site to find out a bit more.

We look forward to playing together,

Brian (FLMutant) & Mike (HaxanMike)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The email you should send you info to is countmeinSPLATflordiafilmfestival.com not countmein.com -- fixing it Smile

Sounds like a very cool project! Can't wait to see how it all plays out Smile

(though, I moved the thread to news & rumors because it's a bit more newsy & rumory than meta-y)
