Actually, I'm pretty sure Ezekiel has nothing to do with this card.

Explanation follows.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

As mentioned before, the animals are the evangelists. Since the angel with the book is the one standing, Matthew is the book we need. (and of course you could have just gone and read the text, which is sad because this was way too easy for a silver). But to fully utilize the clues, Arcturus is also known as 16 Bootis. Rigel is 19 Orionis. Hence, chapter 16, verse 19.
I believe the horse and ring are referring to Elijah, but that's only my interpretation. The nun also refers to the horse as fiery - see 2 Kings for Elijah's burning horses and wheeled chariot drawing him into heaven. Also, in Mormonism, the keys to the kingdom of heaven are called the Keys of Elijah.

So, yay. Another one down!

Does anyone have a spare of this card? It doesn't appear on Perplex City Trades, so it's difficult to find out if anyone does.

I have a spare Riemann and Syzygy Cube I could swap it for.

Thanks

I doubt I am alone in having thought of this solution days ago and having rejected it as just too easy! In a way I feel slightly cheated, with others being so hard, surely this is just too easy for a silver?

I was thinking in terms of the ring of fire being the ecliptic, and the flaming horse being a comet falling through the ring between the two constellations .... complex and challenging ... and wrong Smile

Email mindcandy and explain what happened, I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

I did. No answer yet.

Be warned: my scraping method worked just fine on all the other cards; the numbers were immoveable. The silver cards (at least this one) is all silver underneath and releases all the printing if you scrape too much. And if you think you see some gray still lingering over your code, beware it might be silver showing through the code...

LOL

I'll be honest, I've had small problems with some cards but nothing like this.

Had a card with no code at all (MC kind enough to replace it for me) but not managed to scrape one off yet...

The names "16 Bootis" and "19 Orionis" are known as FLAMSTEED DESIGNATIONS. Final nail in the coffin of solve I think Smile

When I recieved this card, it didn't have the pixel design on it. It was just plain silver on the border.

Silver Pixel cards = no visible border. This has been established through seeing both #249 "The Angel's Key" and #251 "The Thirteenth Labour".
