Reading the heismissing notes (and should we separate the heismissing notes and the sheismissing notes into individual threads?) it looks like Marcus founf heismissing, recognised an employee (Avery? some other underling?) and is investigating. It's like he's gone "OK, Avery went to Zurich and vanished: he definitely got on the 'plane coz his luggage was onboard, and he'd completely erased his voicemail..."

Unlikely, I know, but has anyone checked the pics for stegging yet?
And where does management by proxy come into it? Unless it's a .org or a .tv it isn't a website, and to me it sounds like a book or a management forum...

mc info leak...sounds like he's onto Beth's snooping...or at least suspecting her of leaking information

Note that the pictures were uploaded to his metadex on October 9, which means they've been up there a good working week (its the 14th here).
All of this stuff was there prior to the meet and greet and whatever happened on that day.

It sounds to me like he was following "Avery" as he WAS LEAVING. "flight no. re-confirmed", "luggage onboard" - it sounds like he was checking "Ok, now the flight is re-confirmed (= not delayed etc.), now his luggage is onboard" - he was involved in that person's disappearance.

Where you read onboard or aboard I read aband. as in abandoned... there is a dot after the last letter...
So Avery abandoned his luggage... He literally vanished, as if he was there in one second and in the next he was not...

How did MLO get that reciept? The only thing I can think is that she worked for metacortex and they probably would pay for gas and mileage, so she saved her reciepts and turned them in...but still why does the R&D manager have it? Also, I tend to agree with Pierre, that word has to be abandoned.

management-by-proxy most probably means that he is worried that Avery will try to run the company using a legal proxy, someone to stand in for him... thus he will call the lawyer, C.S...
[edit] Sorry, Santos is not the company lawyer... He's avery lawyer... [/edit]

Did anyone try to find any other files in a directory with a similar structure as the images were ( http://www.metadex.net/usr/mlo/files/20031009/ )?
Isn't "Receipts stashed under bottles"?? Is "blotter" a word?
Any hints who is "J."? (J. Lo? )
What is the "second event"?
Also, this is not definite proof that Avery is the one missing, IMO. But it is good evidence.

Maybe someone can make this out. It looks like the ending is "zat"?

A blotter is a real thing, usually found on office desks. Also an understandable place to stash papers and receipts.
There's more on the receipt, but I can't be sure what it says. Looking at it unflipped, right below the paperclip, there's two lines of what looks like dollar amounts (it looks like $13.75 twice, to me). Looking at it flipped, there're a couple of lines of information above the address. One looks like a string of numbers that starts off 542 and then more stuff that I can't make out, and the next is almost completely illegible to me (I think the second character is a 'u', and the first might be a 2 or a 7.)
What I'm looking for, and can't find, is a date.
