I'm tired, bits of me won't stop aching, I haven't eaten properly since Friday, I'm NOT hungover, but I was very, very drunk (apologies to the guys in the pub) and I've just had the most fantastic weekend!

Thought you lot might be interested in hearing the tale from our side of the story... so here's the London Event according to Duckie, LHall, Jojojojo and Juxta.

Our day started by picking up a slightly bewildered LHall fresh from Texas, then trekking across to Trafalgar Square to meet a lovely MindCandy lady and a photographer. We also met MindCandy Dave and his lady, then three stunningly attractive girls showed up, at which point we were hustled into T-shirts and shoved rather unceremoniously into a phone box (all 9 of us) where the photographer made unreasonable demands such as "I can't see your face, move left". The photos were supposed to be in the papers today, but we can't find them Sad The stunning girls were apparently hired in from a PR agency. Can't decide if this means that we're the ugly contrast or that we're just as attractive...

15 painful minutes later, we quite literally fell out of the phone box, massaged life into screaming limbs and hopped in a cab over to base camp, where we soon started shifting and lifting, squeeeeeeeee!-ing over merchandise and trying to steal the Whipsmart poster.

Proudly donning "CREW" t-shirts (huzzah!) we signed everyone in, seriously confusing those who didn't know what we were doing and thought we were a team, then buzzed off to our locations: Juxta, Laura and myself in Trafalgar Square, then Jojojojo to Piccadilly with Guy P and Bert.

We'd been told about the 'spot challenges' (the fruit race and the conga) at the start of the day, but didn't really know what else was happening. We hadn't seen the scavenger hunt sheets at all, we certainly didn't expect the security guards turfing us off of Nelson's Column for promoting a 'professional enterprise'. We DEFINITELY didn't expect the protest to rock up at the same time as the conga started...

Highlights of the games: Chippy and Herbert the Sock Puppet (SQUEEE!), the superb chain around the column from Team Jazzhands, meeting all you lovely, lovely people, getting to be all shouty at loads of people who did exactly what I said (MWAH HAHAHAHAAAAA!!!) up to and beyond eating pieces of fruit whilst completely out of breath, trying to persuade people that strawberry is NOT the answer nor is ba-na-na, the superlatively cool guys on the rollerblades cruising through the tourists with the greatest of ease, trying to figure out the words that you were spelling with your bodies, being asked by about 100 tourists what I was doing and handing them my spare reds/oranges, trying to count the spontaneous conga (127!!!) and the feeling that you guys were having so much fun because of something that I was a part of.

After the mayhem, we returned to base for defrosting. You may have seen the small heap of weary volunteers on the floor behind the table. That was us...

We REEEELY wanted to go on to the Eye with the top 8 teams, but Adrian said we were needed at base (boo hiss; we had an inkling that a KLOO would happen...) so we shifted and lifted again, this time in reverse, before moaning and groaning our tired little way back to the hotel and then going out to meet the rest of the volunteers and the great and good of MindCandy at Auberge, near Waterloo. Let me assure you that drink was taken, hence my somewhat skewed appearence in the photos at the pub later on. The pub was wonky, not me.

And from there on in, it gets a bit fuzzy. There were taxis, pavements to fall off of, people to hug, kiss and shout rude words at, many many vodkas, more rude words, lots of Jazzhands, a trek along Oxford Street with Chippy, more people to meet... *sighs happily*

So mahoosive thanks to you all for turning up, listening to my shouty shouting, running around like loons and generally making my day. I never realised that being on the 'other side' could be so much fun Smile

Only just got back from london

yesterday was fantastic. My team, GBX came in 7th, which was quite unexpected considering the last update text said we were 25th.

it was great talking to people, although no faces to names as i didn't really find out any names, ah well.

the london eye was a really good end to the day, minus the pub of course

I hope every1 enjoyed our rendition of "happy birthday" with random people off the streets!

Gibbet that 1st photo of yours looks strangely like the purple binary card, have you managed to translate it, to see if it is? Or was that a challenge our team really really missed?!?!

Was the big towerblock next to the Eye.

I reckon is most likely binary. Pretty impressive to have been able to take-over the whole thing for the evening.

Ah, but was it as much fun as the hokey cokey? I feel sorry for the poor photographer stuck in the middle as we all surged in and out rather enthusiastically Laughing

well what was it 5, 6 verses of the song?? and even then we werent sure if we had sang for long enough! I would like to thank the rangers there though who convinced the local kids to join in by telling them it was for channel 4, very smooth.

EDIT: dammit I just translated it too and you got there first! Ok kinda proves they knew it would be c Censored d up and so there must be another KLOO to help us sort it out

/me holds up hands in "you got me pose"

Fitted the number of floors. (No offence intended to the translatees)

Nothing to see here, move along. TINAKLOO!

On more serious note, good going with the translation so far folks.

Looks like some of it is making some sense.

It looks like a faked image tho. It's a double picture except for the lights in the windows plus there's windows that had lights in then that were just blanked out.

Gibbet pulling the wool over our eyes.
