After seeing the shirts (and the downfall of ACWE), I'm in.

About the killer(s): In the "Call Me a Patriot" video, doesn't the narrator say something like, "It's five hours until Al dies, although none of us know that yet"?

First-time ARGer

Mornin', lads and lasses. This will be the first ARG I, too, have participated in. I discovered it after doing a bit of research on the genre when I saw Boingboing's article on Perplex City.

Anyway--to toss in a couple more observations:

In the men's apparel...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
... the Urban Audio shirt says "Secrets" in the tree.

Phoenix says "Your" and "Hero" on the sleeves.

On the back of the Skully shirt, the paint on the sleeve spells out "last" or "lost."

On Trust, when you zoom in on the bird, you can see the words "No One" on its wings, such that the shirt actually reads "Trust No One."

Druggy's alternate colors spell out "Addict."

Framed says "Problem Child" in the paint streaks leading out from the central image.

The guitar head on Electric says "Do It."

And finally, Flame says "Burn Baby."

In women's...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
... as has been mentioned, Crown says "you can't always get what you want."

The back of Bleeding Heart says... uh... "Hit" something? "Hug" something? I can't make it out. If it even IS something, that is.

And Kissing Swallows says "Keep doing nothing."

I'm not going to look at the accessories--at least, not yet--because I've been staring at my monitor way to closely for way too long now. *Chuckles.*

Happy hunting!

FAQ

Just because I haven't seen it memorialized anywhere else yet:

Will you hold my hand through this
frightening process?

Look at the piece of clothing.
I've already told you it says "nothing to hide"
on the inside. But I'll bet when you looked,
you just saw dots, or symbols or something.
I'm telling you, it still says "nothing to hide".
That's your key. Figure out the code I've used
then, go back and use the same technique to
uncover the hidden secret buried somewhere else
on the garment.

> Anything else I should know?

So, so much. But at this point I'm not
too hopeful.

Now what's all this nonsense about no ARG starting today?

I have no clue! There has already been an update!

I went to the Poor Richard site today, and nothing had changed. Then in the middle of the morning, I refreshed the page, and lo, there were TWO NEW LINKS!

They both said the same thing.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Test for paging."

So thrilling! Razz

In all seriousness, maybe it'll update at noon PST. Wouldn't give up hope just yet. Smile

i don't know if this was up when you guys visited, but 1ne of the test links leads to an article in some other language, with a link to google at the bottom. i used a couple language guessers and they both said it was latin. unfortunately the only translator i could find that actually worked, translated it into a bunch of gibberish. here's what i got.

Quote:

doesn't make a whole lot of sense. maybe it's not latin?

Sounds like standard lorem ipsum filler...

Actually, this may clear things up for medioxcore even better than the link to the translation. Wink

But yes, long story short, it's just a standard Latin text used as filler. Smile

Question, though: Is Lipsum always presented in the same way? I mean, the site says this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Praesent sed lacus. Aenean ipsum libero, mollis a, facilisis sit amet, lobortis sit amet, dui. ...

Whereas this picture says this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Duis tellus. Donec ante dolor, iaculis nec, gravida ac, cursus in, eros. ...

Also, while the two "test pages" have been linked to on the site for a few days, I don't think the Lipsum was posted until today. Maybe it was there before, but I certainly don't remember it.

And has anyone taken a look at the flower picture posted at the bottom?

I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere, on the second test paging link, it says Pictures 01 which you can click on and leads to a picture of roses, black and white. Dunno if it's anything...I'm not good with the pictures stuff.

I don't think there's a real standard. Also, random lorem ipsum text generators exist, such as this one.

Ahh, okay. *Nods.*

I ran a quick Google search for "Latin rose." The first result was latin rose . org, which is evidently maintained by "Madeline."

Madeline ?= Maddy?

Personally, I don't think it's anything, but figured I'd mention it just in case.

Maybe...who knows. The picture IS a woman holding a grammy, which would play into the whole music thing. It DOES seem like a stretch though.

It's a Selena fan site. That's the person holding the Grammy. Seems to have another home page. Most of the navigation doesn't work.
