"A Meetup"? www.meetup.com I tried searching for various obvious meetups "perplex", "PCAG", "Receda", "3P" and didn't come up with anything.

I agree, which is why I thought I had foud similarities, despite error, in some "lines" of morse that I posted.

Agreed, not that I have much experience with noting down morse transmissions, but yes, it was a challenge Smile

Thanks, Psyche, for the visual work you have done, and Don for the transliteration along the lines of what I was trying to do... Is there anything to be done with the "Can you see" bit? I have got myself so convinced that's what it says, I am not prepared to think about alternatives.

Oh, and *waves* to Herbert.

Have been staring at video 2 for the last 2 hours, and after covering a small forest with dots and dashes got this:

.-...-.-.../
then I reckon a second signal light comes on beside the first one and shines for a long while before breaking into code:
--/-.--/..-..-....-../
..-....?(?-)../-.-----.(?.)

Have only put in spaces where I'm pretty sure they exist from the video.
The second bit of the morse code (started by the second light) seems to begin with "M" and "Y" which would make a good start for a sentence.
Will keep trying to make sense of the rest.

I seriously hope these sleepless nights are worth it.

So, we assume that 'Not safe. we must move to a safe distance.' is at least one of the codes, right? (thanks don)

Also, we have Jetsam's code, which we'll translate ASAP, but i'm gonna assume they're moving either themselves or something of value. (the cube?)

any thing else?

I got a clear "ENIGMA" to start. The G M A was shown on the UPPER LEFT light, as that's the one that looks like the one we were following.

A couple of seconds later though, the upper left light went off and the lower right light was the only one.. It looks like there was a strange struggle down there, or something. The main light seemed to flicker a bit as another figure (light 2) came up to him, as if still trying to show the message but distracted/something. So.. I don't know. All I got was "ENIGMA". Then, I can't tell which light was the real one..

Maybe something to do with the ENIGMA cipher?

Have been back at video 2 again. This time noted down the times for the light been on&off (nicked the idea off Nuleren and psyche Wink but don't have Premiere). Have attached it in an excel file. Found I was able to calculate the times for each period the light was on for and produce a nice histogram of the dots and dashes (ie.depending on if the light was on for a long time or not). Tried the same with the time when the light was off to find where the gaps between words are.
Found the person flashing the morse code was quite good at making distinctions between dots and dashes but rubbish at doing longer pauses between words! (so nothing we don't know already Rolling Eyes )

Couldn't find the ENIGMA light Mindros wrote about though. The flashing lights I've been looking at are in the centre of the frame on the pavement at the side of the bridge.

Are there any longer bits of video floating about? and are people definitely sure there is a message??!

I am totally out of my depth on the Morse, but I just thought I'd extend a "welcome" in the direction of jetsam. In that spirit then:

Welcome, jetsam! Smile (If you have a twin by the name of flotsam, could you get them to join for my own personal amusement? Ta!)

Ok, so I worked video 2 for a long time last night using jetsam's excel file. I tried to keep the large breaks in the code as breaks in words. This is what I've come up with, word by word, so far:

.-...-.-...
This word im not really sure about, but ive gotten words close to "find" or "read"

-- / -.--
MY

. / .-. / .- / ... / . / -..
ERASED

..-. / .. / .-.. / .
I was originally getting Fire, but right in the middle of the "r" is when the camera goes all over the place, so I was able to add another . to make it FILE

-.-- / --- / ..
This is where the tape ends but it looks like the start of YOU or YOUR

I'e been trying to match the video bits to Tallys transcript, but am not having much luck. There are a number of bits where it will fit if I change the dots and dashes, but I don't really want to. Could someone have a little look and tell me what they can do, cos I dont want to make things fit, then I will end up making the message mean what I want it to, rather than what it does.

Just thought i'd de-lurk and add my 2 cents:

What about using the . and - as Binary? with one of them representing a 0 and one a 1. (I just came up with this because i've been having that as a puzzle idea at the back of my mind for a while)

Well, back to Perplex City Lurking!

Hehe, happy to be here! if I had a twin, I would definitely introduce them to PC, and not just for GuyP's amusement either! Wink

Am glad that bit is finally making some sense (Thanks Nurelen!), just need the other bits of the morse code now.

Just looking through this forum, could THEOSLIE(R/S) be THE O.S.
LIE(R/S),
O.S. being Operating System, i.e. Windows.

and we all know windows is evil.

As for the binary idea. It's nice but I doubt it'd work.
