So are there any leads we have other than the composer code and curtis' secret? Is there something else that we might be able to solve with what we have at hand that I'm not thinking of? also, I've been trying to get into Karin's login on her blog, any clues on the password? I've tried everything relating to al khari, windfall, and RHS that i can think of but no luck so far.

hi guys, i just started, and this is my first ARG. Twiler pointed out Murco's 42 icon, but i think i remember seeing that specific image before (i'm a big hitchhikers guide fan) i'm pretty sure i saw it on h2g2.com, or some fansite, strange that a renatan would be a fan of the guide. also 42 is the answer, so maybe you could run that cipher thing with the word MURCO?

I havent been following this, but the code interested me, so I jumped in, hope you don't mind.

This is what I have so far:

I noticed the word "Harmony" above the original code. Harmony is 7 characters long, and we have seven lines of code, there are 2 ways to arrange the lines so that they would spell "Harmony" in decending order. I then tried shifting the characters left to align the letters for the word "Harmony". The remaining letters on the left were then moved to the right of the same line to fill it back out. I kept the letters in order and have not yet tried reversing the wrapped characters that are cut off the left of the grid (as though they were on a rotating cylinder) but may try it next. I did the first alignment while leaving the triads in place, I did the second one while incorporating the triads as though they were cipher text.

Results so far are below.

(Original)
Harmony
4 S A H U dfg
S M U R 3 egb
6 S E R W fac
0 5 O A U gbd
2 A O M N ace
3 L N C K bdf
P Y ceg

(Version A, with lines reordered and no shifting)
Harmony
4 S A H U dfg
0 5 O A U gbd
6 S E R W fac
S M U R 3 egb
2 A O M N ace
3 L N C K bdf
P Y ceg

(Version A, shifted, with Triads untouched)
* H a r m ony
H U 4 S A dfg
A U 0 5 O gbd
R W 6 S E fac
M U R 3 S egb
O M N 2 A ace
N C K 3 L bdf
Y P ceg

(Version A shifted, with Triads as Ciphertext)
* H a r m o n y
H U d f g 4 S A
A U g b d 0 5 O
R W f a c 6 S E
M U R 3 e g b S
O M N a c e 2 A
N C K b d f 3 L
Y c e g P

(Version B with lines reordered)
* H a r m ony
4 S A H U dfg
2 A O M N ace
6 S E R W fac
S M U R 3 egb
0 5 O A U gbd
3 L N C K bdf
P Y ceg

(B, Triads untouched)
* H a r m o n y
H U 4 S A d f g
A O M N 2 a c e
R W 6 S E f a c
M U R 3 S e g b
O A U 0 5 g b d
N C K 3 L b d f
Y P c e g

(B, Triads as Cyphertext)
* H a r m o n y
H U d f g 4 S A
A O M N a c e 2
R W f a c 6 S E
M U R 3 e g b S
O A U g b d 0 5
N C K b d f 3 L
Y c e g P

None of the above are quite clicking yet, but I find it interesting that the title, "Harmony" is the same number of characters as the lines of text, and it can be spelled out with one letter from each line, in 2 combinations, and that the triads on the end provide one more column than the key, "Harmony", which is typical for cross griding.

Hopefully this will spark someone elses imagination and help towards a solve.

Can I get the muso's to do something?

I'm looking at harmonies within the scale of C Major.
I found a table that looked something like this...

Code:
G   A   G   C   D   E   F   (G)
E   F   G   A   B   C   D   (E)
C   D   E   F   G   A   B   (C)

I   II  III IV  V   VI  VII  I

But that doesn't seem to fit the letters that we have.

Also - I found some fret board stuff, which showed finger positions to play the chords we were given. Could this be a morse code? Am I thinking too difficult?

EDIT: I'm quite dumb. If this is in the key of ACE, I should be looking at a-minor, not C major.

OH - also.

What key is that cheesy bit of music on Nissa's secret diary in?
It's called "Silent"

Might that be relevant?

What's this i hear about Anissa and Karin being an item?

Ok, Are Karin and Nis a couple or not Question Karin just did a post that seems like they are:

Anissa wrote:
Break up me and Karyn!
Ewww... we're just good FRIENDS! -____- Time for bed methinks.

Karen: Come on Anissa, no need to be shy about it.

A few things to highlight, strictly TIAG, but there is only ever one of the IG characters logged in at a time (as far as I have ever seen - correct me if I'm wrong), therefore the whole C1 being banned was planned (damn that poetry!)

I suspect we may see further Composers, e.g. C2 etc. as we will need some guidance I think.

Also just so everyone is aware of my gameplan, assuming I can get Nis interested, which seems to be going OK, ideally I want to get Jared to meet her, using my back story, and assuming we can keep in touch with him!

I've not had any thoughts on the code, but I'm away to look into it.

Will the composer being banned matter? If it's just a piece of code, it should still react to messages being sent to it, no?

I very much doubt C1 really is a piece of code, I think that is just in game.

P.S. Twiler, I'm not sure about posting in the IG forum about codes etc. obviously in TIAG it shouldn't matter, but it may throw up complications, such as C1 being banned...

EDIT> BTW based on the pre-game I fully expect the PM to read this thread too, just so you are aware.

Composer1 has a new avatar. I don't know if this is important, but it's certainty a strange image.

Is there any particualr order in which the octaves in the code could be placed that has some significance?

I PM'd Anissa after Composer1 got banned. She responded with:

Quote:
yes. Its what they call "spam" on the internet. He doesnt make sense, so he is banned ^^

Not sure if we should talk her into unbanning him or not.

alright, I've attempted to get curtis to talk about this secret among other things but I havnt gotten any responses yet today. On the other hand when asking Karin about how many letters were in the al khari language this is what she said:

Quote:
Everyone is asking me. I honestly know little more than what i learn from books and the Al Khari guys at school. Numbers are usually spelt out. As far as i know most letters are just replaced with our letters, although in some text there are symbols.

dont know if that will help anything but just in case...

EDIT: just a guess, maybe curtis is one of those "al khari guys"?

is it just me of does the composers' new avatar kind of look like a strange form of sheet music? the colors represent the note and the dots represent time?
