Yesterday I thought the password could be "3535cc", without quotes. I have just spoken to someone who confirmed that when he used it, it triggered the new pages. It was on Morrow's Journal in a meta tag with the name "ProgId". It has now changed to "Frontpage.Editor.Document". Now I don't know. The password could be very similar to that however ("PASSWORD IS - C******").

Morrow could be looking at any point in a sequence of letters. "THE PASSWORD IS..." might not be a message from Morrow anyway.

I just discovered that index.html doesn't exist. That means that the directory index has been changed from the default.

This appears to now be an Apache server, so I tried downloading .htaccess to see what the DirectoryIndex was set as (you can't usually do this, but given the previous discoveries of technical competence...). As you can see, it gives a different, standard looking 404 error page. Possibly a mistake on behalf of the webmaster.

"The Gates Are Only The Beginning" --This is in the Status page now; I can't really tell if the ASCII art itself has changed.

In case anyone wanted to know, D Walsh, the character from the journal, is officially speaking at the Elder Scrolls Forums. You might want to check it out.

Yep, but actually, Apache is by default set to open index.html, index.htm (in this case, this is what the index file is) and I think home.html. But you seem to know a lot about Apache, do you own a server?

"The Gates Are Only The Beginning" is another reference to Oblivion. In the main quest, on of the early segments has you going into a gate of oblivion.

Also, as somone mentioned in the official Elder scrolls forums, so far our "numbers" have been 7,3, and 5. 735 in leetspeak? TES. The elder scrolls.

I would go check out the Elder scrolls forums for more clues and maybe the password?

Hope I helped, and good luck.

I talked about it. It's the login handler, anyone with ASP programing skills could (maybe...) solve this puzzle a litle bit faster.

I've owned many servers. I'm developing server-side software a lot of the time, so I have Apache set up on my PC as well for testing.

I gave my analysis of it a few pages back. All programming is more or less the same really.

I just looked at gdforum again, there is no use in trying to get the password unless the web-master reinstalls IIS instead of Apache as ASP is no longer installed thus making the login script no longer run and no matter what you do, it won't work, the best thing to do would be to wait until the web-master notices it... or, if you just want to figure out the password for when it is fixed, you can do that.
