[SPEC] How deep does the rabit hole go?

Is this an official Matrix ARG?

If it is, it's not likely more than in name only.

The Wachowskis are very proprietary about their franchise, though, so if it's official I'd bet that the storyline has at least been across their desk and stamped, but that's probably about it.

As for direct involvement, not really.

I don't know why people think it would be "unlikely" for the WBs to be involved in something like this. The "A.I." ARG was backed by Dreamworks and Warner Bros. What makes you think it's not possible with this ARG?

I think this has been raised before: does it really matter whether or not it is officially sanctioned? Bottom line, is this is a very thorough, very convincing game-reality, and someone has gone to a really big effort to line everything up.

I'm having a lot of fun with this: it's my first ARG, and I drifted accross from a Matrix forum. As long as it stays complicated and rewarding, I don't doubt I'll keep on having fun with this too.

Looking at what we know about the ARG though, the only real linkages it has with the Matrix is the trailhead (Metacortex) which contains a Thomas Anderson reference, as well as the literary/mythological style cues.

Officially sanctioned or no, as long as we don't pour all this effort into solving these puzzles to be let down by the ending I don't care who's really pulling the strings.

If you really want to know, check out some of the better-known Matrix forums, they've been discussing this lately on their Metacortex threads. They don't seem to encourage discussing this sort of thing here beyond the purely spec level. Feel free to send me a message if you want some links...I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to post them on here. I'm trying very hard to restrain myself from going on a rant about censorship. Must...click...submit...

Feel free to post any links and even go ahead and discuss... we had this discussion about the ARG previously.. the item subject to censorship is the name of a PM, which is sort of like someone posting your real name when you want to remain anonymous..

So talk as much as you want about it here and don't worry..

Well then I'll post a link to my post at MatrixCommunity.org. I'm a moderator there and I felt Matrix Fans deserved to know if this was Official or not. As far as I can tell, it is not. My reasons for believing so are in that post. The name of the moderator is not mentioned, but I do name the group that some believe are behind it.

Oh, ok, cool. Very Happy Yeah, Igpajo's link is basically what I was talking about...sorry, I based my earlier comment on a similar link that I saw deleted a while ago, which made me think that things like that just weren't allowed. So I wasn't being totally irrational... ok, I'll try to refrain from bashing the mods here from now on. Mr. Green
