[META][SPECULATION] Where is this game going?

I've been thinking about WIBS alot these last few days (being sick at home can do that to you), and i was wondering, where is this going?

I mean, it seems to me that we're still in a sort of pre-game. The extent of the storyline advancement that we are getting is the background of Ben Stove. I'm assuming that at some point, the storyline is gonna change to a more current, active storyline, as opposed to the sort-of backstory "setting up the story" thing that is going on right now. Any speculation on where this is going?

My only idea for now is that either we'll find B. Stove soon, and he'll be come a legitamite character (by this, i mean one who we can interact with), or the focus of the story will shift away from Benny, to Tucker and Debunkette.

My opinion is that the focus will move away from Benjamin. Why? Because I'd imagine there's only so much you can do with the plot as it stands (actually, there isn't really one at the moment), and even now we haven't been given much of a reason to actually find Benjamin - just a general "I found this painting and now I'm curious about the guy who was writing notes in it." We have puzzles so far but no real plot. What happens after we find Benjamin?

I don't have many ideas about where the focus might move to, though. I have a few but I'd rather keep them to myself at the moment.

I think that's the beginning of a switch to a Tucker-oriented game. "Mom." is being visited by mysterious strangers.

A defenceless old lady being mercilessly interrogated by dark-haired strangers? BOOYEAH! Sounds like this 'tis getting somewhere!

I've been wondering this too, and also what the target is. The Visiting still seems like a remote possibility...

Yeah, I've been wondering this (here comes the explaination for disspearing) I found that this game is sort of stuck in a rut. We get some update from Tucker, we find a site, we (you guys) crack the codes, we uncover more of this rather bland story. This ARG has really failed to capture my attention. If it does become more current and more focus on what's happening, rather than what has already happened, I might consider on rejoing. Depending on weither or not the story comes accross as..well..less bland. I'm sure that some of you find this story very good, but it is not what intrests me.

Yeah, for a while there, i was a little bored with the story, but it seems to be picking up quite a bit!

I especially want to give a shout out to the people who's humor is making it more and more fun to play WIBS! (Yay me! No seriously, thanks Lovek, Sidtheduck, and...uhh...EVERYBODY! (Including the PMs! I'm really liking Tucker's sense of humor! (yes, i know you are reading this....and you know that i know that you're reading this...but lets pretend we don't, ok? Wink))))) (obnoxious amounts of parenthesis!)

Thanks for the kudos, SirQuady!! I also enjoy the humorous banter on WIBS!! This is still my first ARG, so that may be the reason it has still held my attention thus far. I did think it was crawling along there for a little bit, but I didn't know if that was normal or not though, so I just let it slide. It's very roller coaster-ish (really quick if you're on at the right time and then very slow paced waiting around forever it seems). Dunno, but I still continue to be hooked.

The story is kinda bland and slow, but it fits in with my schedule at work!! It's great to get your view of it as well, Audioslave, since I have zero experience of the ARG world prior to WIBS.

I still don't know what the target is or what (if anything) they are promoting, but I guess I'll stick it out and find out in the end. Smile

I wonder if we are in store for a plot twist of sorts in the vein of Tucker not being who we think he is (see the note left in NY Library book).
That would be something, eh? Tucker is really a plant to capture Ben using us as unwitting accomplices. That's not too ARG cliché is it?

Laughing I'm hardly an ARG vetran (well...technically, according to my post count, I am) I only started playing late August/Early September
