okay was doing this ideas fest things when I noticed the name Garith Yung... we had a time data base so entered it here:

when I noticed this piece of text in his file:

I thought the name sounded familiar so I typed it in and got this:

Anyway, this chap Ben Stove has made first contact a little ahead of our predictions. Awful bother, giving earth FTL travel too soon. It's going to cause all sorts of social upheaval, especially when there isn't even a single world government yet. Get right on that, would you? Also make this Stove chap disappear before he can tell anyone what he's discovered.

Maybe i'm just reaching, but... Thomas Anderson? (Neo?)

Sounds rather tounge in cheek! Wink I like it! (even if it was an accidental reference)
