I must admit, that for someone as educated as Anna, this plan seems very crude and fraught with pitholes and what ifs. Do we think that it will actually come to this or will someone come up with a better idea?

"Do they seem to be acting very anti social?"
"Oh yes very anti social, OH MY GOD! one fo them has thrown his gum on the ground, yes the ground and is heading straight for a phone box, QUICKLY you must do something!!"
"Don't worry sir, the armed response will be there asap just stay inside and don't let them see you."

It may be crude true, but its actually (to use the old phrase) so stupid it might work.
Would they ever expect something as childish as this? The Perplexians are apparently a bit more mature than Earth as a whole (well they like to think so judging from the letters page of the Sentinel) So I dont think it would occur to them that while riots are happening because RFD have a small surprise gig, their phone lines/key things would be hit by hundreds of hoax calls, if anything they may well believe the calls thinking the rioting has spread.

I think that a lot of people might go for the people in the Most Wanted section.
"Officer! Officer! Hurbert Ling is sitting on my patio sharpening knives!"
Could that be a problem? If the Perplex PC dept gets loads of calls about the same person/people being spotted all over the city at the same time, won't they be a tiny bit suspious?
Or (this is my first ARG) will Mind Candy be expecting something like this and make certain allowances?

Why dont we, as a group, all call in claiming to see the same person in a similar area? We have a large chunk of the map now. We can chose a section of streets that are connected, and we have their most wanted list.

Coordination Perhaps a more coordinated approach, hinting at an escalating series of anarchistic attacks in various different precincts would work.
It needs to be something that hints at escalation I think to get the reserves out. I'm not totally au fait with the band's background - are they associated with any of the more crackpot groups around the fringes of Perplex City history?
*would avoid mentionning the third power though*

I think we need to go for the spread-out approach. If we cluster, it might be considered that a couple of units are all that's necessary. We need to make sure that enough 'events' that require police presence are set up in diffuse areas of the city that all of their units are out at a call, on their way to a call, or moving from one call to another.
The other aspect is that at some point, someone will realise that there's a lot of scamming going on and will advise police caution or some form of verification... although if PxC laws are like UK laws, the emergency services have a legal obligation to attend any call-out request that they receive (although did this change recently?)
BUT, we don't know yet if we're going to have to put this plan into action or not. Anna's whining may yet succeed!
/me shakes head in disbelief, prepares maps of PxC and starts organising crank-calling squads

See how many things we can get out of http://www.seventhsanctum.com and the dares on http://www.nanowrimo.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=20&forum=150
"Help! There's a Ninja stealing stuff from my house! A description? Well, She's tall and has a busty build. Her almond-shaped eyes are sky-blue and she has blue hair.
How do I know she's a ninja? Well... She uses a weird form of martial arts that emphasizes duplicating the moves of one's opponent. Also, she's jumping out of my window... Damnit!"
EDIT:Or get a list of prank calls from the simpsons? http://www.snpp.com/guides/moe_calls.html
We could all just call up and threaten to kill them all... And I am so waiting to see the sentinel's article on it, if it happens...

As humorous as prank calls and the suggestions so far would be, would the PXCPD not realise that they are prank calls and ignore them.
Sorry to be a party-pooper but i felt someone should throw in the voice of reason (but i imagine most of you arent being 100% serious about your suggestions anyway, so just ignore me)

Hmmm... Scorpio there has a point (love the picture.)
We could have them sound more real with sound effects? such as:

Make up some stories...

I'm with Duckie on this one. We need to coordinate the calls and make it seem like the trouble is spreading from a single point and encompassing large areas of the city... However, this will only work for a short period as wouldn't take long to realise that all was quiet and that the reports were false. (Especially if they have remote or airborne survalance?) Not sure this plan is gonna work at all...
However, if Anna's other half is a part time copper will he just not have access to the site anyway??

I think some loose coordination might be appropriate...however I imagine any and all plans with quickly fly out the window . An general movement directed through peer pressure and consensual opinions in IRC when we have to do whatever it is we have to do would be more efficient...rather than a 15 page thread with everyone's thoughts ejaculated on unfiction.
