Bugger. 403 error for me too. What is going on? Is it temporary? If he let this end that way... Oh, god...

So, at least now I know that everyone is getting the same error. It is of note that there were refferences to a "famine" wich was figured to be a long starving of information. This could be part of the game, possibly a taking down of the site, to see if we could continue without the site and find clues elsewhere. Or it could fragged, or they could have gotten a cease and dissist in the event it was in fact a fake.

I apologize toward the unfiction forums for continuing this conversation here. We are following this story, whatever its faults, and this is a troubling occurence. None of us know how to contact the others or know what is going on.

Egarb, your "famine" reference is interesting. The third seal have opened - errr, in fact, I rather think its because of me. Ahem. I've been e-mailing Morrow information, and I think it triggered his posting and the journal update. Anyway, it has been hinted much before that the third seal would bring starving of information. But if it is that, for heaven sake, where are we supposed to find the next clues???

If it's simply a unforeseen problem with the site, would we get a 403 error? It's an error that "forbids" access, from what I have googled.

If it's the end of ilovebees2... What happened? The creator has oviously spend some time and money creating this : for letting us down that way?

It *is* a fake - insofar you mean by that that it's something done not by a company, but by simple persons seeking fun. I think we have established that much. But who could complain and ask the site to be taken down? The creators of ilovebees1? Bethesda and Bungie know about this from long ago, and it doesn't seem to have bothered them - a dev from Beth said "well, play it" when asked about it. Could it be the author of "the Minerva virus" that got pissed - assuming he has nothing to do with that?

Wouldn't appear in the case of "a cease and desist" thingy a message explaining the cause of the site being taken down?

... God, this is so irritating! Has anyone access to the chat channel?

Well, it could be to find a place to discuss other than the site, part of the ARG. See if the players could get together centrally without having an official site. Storyline wise probably worked out as one side hacking the site or somsuch, or the virus jacking the site up, or whatever.

As for the cease and dissist theory someone in fortytwo (or however it's spelled or said) could have finnally decided to take action, intellectual property can be a fearsome beast.

You might be right, egarb. By the way, sid and dreamer are on the http://www.geezergamers.com forums. The situation is being discussed there - perhaps it'll be best not to bother too much the folks on here.

There's no reason for you to apologize, or not to continue the conversation here. The game hasn't broken any rules, and discussing it is something you are free to do.

If some people are against it, then that's just personal opinion and they are entitled to it as much as you are entitled to yours around here. If the administration wasn't okay with it then this thread wouldn't be here.

No, there sholdn't be a reason to move, but all the players do need to contact somehow and centralize. I remember someone throwing out a forum just before the onsite forum was discovered. If we were to all migrate to a single spot it would help greatly until we know whats going on.

I personally dont think this is an appropriate place to centralize. We really need a forum to ourselves seeing as how much crap was posted on the ILB2.com/forum

Any ideas on where we could go? If you find a place post it.

Update: I just created a forum for us to use in hopes of centralizing discussion. It's at http://ilb2unofficial.forumup.com. I'm going to post over at geezer gamers too

Sorry for the triple post, but being a guest I can't edit.

Ezrelda over at the Geezer Gamers forums got an email from morrow saying that the famine would end soon.

We know, Egarb. Morrow was on the chat channel some ten hours ago. It was him, sid has access to IPs. He said as much, concerning the famine.

This is totally lunatic.

And, thank you Ehsan. Smile

So we've noticed.
I hope I didn't contribute to making y'all feel unwelcome in any way. I did not at all mean it.
Having said that, this game is hella confusing; what in the world is going on? You think you could hook me up with a summary?

Laughing

... That's actually made me laugh. No, I'm sorry. I'll leave this task to somebody else, because I can't. What we have figured so far, don't you know, is that the story shapes around us. There is no storyline, to be short. Contradictory clues pile upn update after update, involving Oblivion, Halo, ILB1, the freakin' Bible, now, a book called "The Minerva Virus"... There is nothing as of yet to give a coherence to all that. We are pulling clues apart - some are useless, some, for some reason, trigger something. It's all intuition and guess work. Plus, apparently, as the story shapes around the players, it means that the creator seems to be extraordinarily picky about who he talks to, and who he accepts solved clues from. I experimented that myself, alas.

Add to this that we are more or less obliged by the configuration of this to shape into two opposite forces... And that people are taking way too seriously, on the forums, going bonkers about that...

... Mad zone. *shrug* Hooking thing, for some weird reason, but mad zone nonetheless. I'm going to see the end of this, but I somehow wish I wouldn't. Bloody sink of time, little rewarding.

Is there a forum for people who are interested in what's going on but don't want to get caught up in (or weed thru) all of the frenzied berzerker posts in the IG forum? (i mean besides this one, since it doesn't seem to be very active in re the actual game)
