Esoteric?

I'm not sure that tarot stuff is any more esoteric than base-64 converters Laughing You type it into google, you read, and you figure it out. I agree that it shouldn't be too complex or in depth, but I don't think a message hidden in the language of tarot is somehow less likely to appear here than some of the steganographic stuff that people have uncovered.

I've been working through some ideas about interpreting silvia.graffle.jpg, and I'll post those in the silvia files thread.

Glad This Analysis Has Been Picked Up By You Folks

Thanks for the new efforts folks, I was also suprised this work hadn't been pursued further over the last couple days as well. I don't think I presented my info with enough of a "case" that we were on to something. I just jumped back into the game after some disappointment at taking this correlation and waisting time on Sat and Sun trying to correlate to IRC1 and IRC2 chats which have been debunked.

Will continue with more analysis tonight and thanks for making the word documents with the images intact.

Bigger Picture

Any thoughts about starting a new Thread with a good title in Puzzles about the overall Bigger Picture regarding Characters? I know the Moderators don't like too much redundant cross postings, but maybe we need a new Thread that starts with a solid summary clearly presented of what we know about these siliva and carelessly meetings and put them in the context of what it all means.

I started this thread with some long posts of the transcripts and my analysis and yours needs to be summarized. I have looked at the Silvia puzzles forum and similar work has been done there, but the Character ID approach needs to be global over silivia, carelessly, and any other future meetings we may see in the future.

Comments? Stay here or take this threads latest clearly presented output and take to a new thread?

Either texel is remarkably familar with the Crowley deck and has exceptional eyes (for identifying the cards in no time at all), or the meaning of the image is a lot more obvious and has less to do with the specific cards and their position in the spread.

i'm not going to chace down the link, sorry <grin>, but someone in the puzzles section here found that the tarot card section of the picture was available via google, suggesting that the idea of tarot (fate?) was more important than the actual layout.

not to burst anyone's bubble <grin>

Things simplify

Hey, I'm more than pleased that we can now stop looking carefully at the tarot cards themselves. I've spent too much time there already.

I made the point in a recent post in the puzzles forum that putting together that image from scratch inside of a 3 minute conversation seemed unlikely. It just seemed too unlikely that anyone could put that together on the fly in that amount of time.

All I had to do was put Murphy's Law into action, and after refraining for more than a day I finally posted some stuff about interpreting the spread's cards in specific, only to have it instaneously become irrelevant by having someone find the source image Very Happy That's what Murphy's Law is good for ...

Hey xnbomb - working on your nicely done files now

xnbomb:
I am now editing your files you based on my "transcripts" with added information now and will be uploading soon. Nice work adding the images themselves to the word documents which I had not done. I have added actual text for each image and the character letter scheme.

I have also added a couple of "Editor" comments in bold print and think we might make this a working document in progress since it is a group effort?

Should we start fresh with a new thread?

Re: Seeing the bigger picture

Skeptical, I'm following your line of reasoning. I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more attention ... as I've been pondering the silvia files lately, the following thoughts have occurred to me:

1. We need to try to identify who said what to make any sense of the 'conversation' taking place in the carelessly and silvia sequences

2. In doing so, it may become easier for us to interpret the particular messages that seem cryptic ... context is often very helpful.

3. Now that he have two such sequences of files (conversations), our odds of figuring this out have improved tremendously.

I appreciate what you've done in the thread so far. One suggestion is that we need to number the carelessly files and silvia files differently so that we can distinguish one from the other. So perhaps the 7th silvia file should be S7, and the 7th carelessly file C7 so we can tell them apart in your compendium above. If you like the idea, you could edit your post above (Character ID Correlation) and add the Cs and Ss.

Another aid that can really help with this is by putting all the files together in a way that allows them to be browsed easily and in the context of the conversation. Yanka did a very nice job of this for the silvia files using a .doc. I've replicated what he did for the carelessly files (thanks to BriEnigma for the timestamp order and providing a convenient place to get the files), and have attached both to this post (using my proposed numbering system).

xnbomb:
Thanks for the work and added more to your Word docs.
Started a new thread here in puzzles:

Moderators: Lock this thread and re-direct IMO
