Cow Abductions

I searched and didn't find anything yet.
Found these banners popping up on PvPonline.com, looks like a viral ad for the dairy industry. could be fun

the main site:
http://www.cowabduction.com/
there are some hidden codes in the image gallery, most notably February 2nd, 3:48am

here are the abductors, from planet "Brittlactica" (as in "brittle bones")

Holy moo cow! Could it be? An ARG created by the milk company?!

EDIT: According to these sites, they were created by the Calfornia milk companies...I think this is going to be one helluva viral marketing...thing

Happy Cows come from Califirnia (the largest producer of milk in the US)

Got Milk?!

Hmmm... we have a pony icon... wonder what we would have to do for a cow...

Happy cows don't come from california, lazy cows come from california.

If you want a cow you can depend on...go to Wisconsin. THE REAL dairy state.

I NEED a Mooonitor!

And CJ, how did you find the second site? Trail, please!

And.. notwithstanding inklings of California-related cows, note the interviewer sounds like a Brit and the Brittlactican mission archives mention "ran out of petrol". And would Californians misspell Modesto in their mission log for Earth?

And...reading (am I bored or what) the Legal Disclaimers, most of which are normal, we find: another website!

http://www.gotmilk.com/aliens/

(it seems to be all the same real stuff about milk, just in an aliens directory, EXCEPT FOR THE ALIEN ADS!!)
And this about the campaign http://www.gotmilk.com/news/health/aliens.html

And...my final edit...I hope...if it all tracks back to the Got Milk website then I think we are not dealing with just California dairy; I think that's the whole industry, isn't it? So those Wisconsin cows can stop painting those protest signs right now!

I was delighted to discover embedded within this week's edition of the Weekly World News a whole article on the terrible tragedy of Cow Abductions. It is definitely the same thing, and I'd scan it in, but I'm 500 miles from my scanner and will be thus until Sunday. If anybody wants to pick it up and scan it in my stead, be my guest!
It does give us a bunch of pun-filled names and two new organizations (I think, I haven't had the chance to check out the sites thoroughly yet): Save Our Youngsters (SOY), a militant lactose intolerant group, and the Parallax Corporation, a 'thinktank'.

(Not the complete article - a teaser for the print edition, I think. Also note the cow pics submitted as "evidence" are from people who don't get it.)

And Ofiuco - LINKS for those two new organizations? (I tried the obvious ones, no dice.)

Check the cow abduction site again - they are posting new "evidence" from witnesses. Very Happy
