How does Claire know the others are dead? How much can they get from their keys? Does Claire even have a key? Just seems odd to me.

I think people have been watching too many movies! He's a shadow because no one knows who he is, not because he's a shape shifting, metal bodied, parasitic, human taker overer!!! Rolling Eyes

In all seriousness I think he is just one person. But the killing of Monica Grand and the others was probably orchestrated by him but not carried out by him. Well maybe he did one killing just for fun. Confused

aside from all the V vs. C stuff, it sounds like we need to get our hands on the last page of the Granier diary now more than ever, since from what Claire said, the mysterious base at Viendenbourg is trying to replicate what happened all those years ago, and seemingly already has in Anjsbourg.

does Anna have the diary? maybe she cant read the thing, but she could at least scan it for us, or give it to Violet?

Has anyone read Isobelle Carmody's Obernewtyn books? They're clearly excavating the old pre-apocalyptic "balance of terror" nuclear machines, or searching for the sentinel machine that will control them Razz

...Actually, there really are a lot of funny parallels, in a way. (Obernewtyn = Viendenbourg, etc.)
