Hardly.

Quote:
Hi mate,

I'm not sure if you're aware but as the game's getting larger there have been loads more posts and it's quite tricky for people to see what's going on if there are loads of posts. To keep this down there's a secton in the beginners posts about agreement posts.

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10661

Quote:
The same goes for agreement posts. If you are just posting an agreement to someone's idea without including anything additional, then perhaps you could hold off replying until you come up with your own speculation or can add something to the thread. If you do really want to congratulate/agree with someone on an idea or post, feel free to PM them through the board.

Not having a go, just trying to make things easier for everyone.

Cheers

Chris

lmao. No-one includes the words 'no offence, but...' without causing offence and i know you didn't write that, you wrote 'Not having a go, just...'

Now then, to avoid another angry message ( Wink ), i'm off to e-mail Violet and anna about swapping info, and diarys/keys, etc...

Well, they do. They write it to try and ensure the message won't be misconstrued as a personal attack and to try and keep the tone as light as possible. I only posted that to you off to try and keep the board as user friendly as possible and easy for everyone to use. The guidelines are their for a reason-to make this board work. I'm not sure why you felt the need to bring this on to the board-it's very tiresome.

Oops... will try to keep my thread terrorism under control, for everyone's sakes... anyway, back on topic, I've emailed Anna asking if she could get Kurt to have a look at the diary.

But after I sent it, I thought - what if Miranda gets her dirty hands on it? Because I trust her about as much as I trust Sente, which is not a lot, if any at all.

And so what if he's working away on the diary, goes off to put the kettle on, and she either deletes or changes the information, or makes a copy to give to V or whomever she's working for?

Is there anyone else who has a knowledge of cryptography? Because I don't fancy telling Kurt to keep it away from Miranda because we think she's probably a bit evil... especially as he's been so bad-tempered recently. Could ask Anna if she knows anyone who might be able to help decipher it?

Off for a cup of tea and a think...

Well, I'm not going to attempt to put words into anyone's mouth, but rest assured, if I intend to cause offense, you'll know it, and I'll have no qualms about stating it clearly.

Chris' point is entirely valid. As the playerbase increases, so (obviously), do the number of posts and amount of information being passed around. In a "low-traffic" environment, self congratulatory ego-massaging, threads which descend into absolute gibberish and the posting of 120+ posts in under a calendar month from each individual might be fine and manageable. I'm struggling to recall who I'm quoting, and I apologise to them if I'm not word perfect, but "Content > Post Count" would be something which I would request that you consider, as in this environment, it seems that the growing consensus is that it isn't.

Now. Unless your seemingly irrepressible desire to have the final word on every topic upon these boards is entirely unquenchable, could we possibly just take any further fallout from this to a PM? I will quite happily discuss it further there, but to inflict yet more of this dross upon the UnFiction viewing public is, I'm certain, violating some tenet or other of the Geneva Convention...

The diary isn't encrypted, it's just very old (300 years ago being considered ancient by Perplexian standards) so you'd actually need another expert in ancient documents to decipher it rather than a cryptologist. Like, for example, Anna's close personal friend Roberto Solitano, Adjunct Senior Fellow in the ancient languages of Perplex City (hmm, could this be a clue?)

I agree that getting someone from the languages department might be another useful route (once someone gets back that diary page from his office!).

Decrypting Cymbalisty's notes from his key might prove interesting though, especially if either the key or page have been altered since entering police custody. It gives us a way to cross-check the results.

really Kurt, Anna and Violet need to all sit down and have an info-fest, where they all knock heads and bang out ideas about Granier, Cymbalisty, and The Third Power. They all know little tiny pieces of the puzzle, but because they all only know pieces, they are grappling at the truth. If they all got together in the same room fFor more than 5 minutes, they would fFinally see it all come together. nothing any of them knows is exceptionally seperated fFrom anything anyone else among them knows. Really it's all very tightly woven together.

They've clearly been misusing their PXC-Earth datalink and watching far too many episodes of Lost.

Quote:
Kurt: "Gee... life sure does seem a lot more exciting when you neglect to tell each other vital information about all the crazy stuff that keeps happening!"
Violet: "Sure does, Kurt! So I guess no one wants to hear about this crazy diary I'm very slowly transcribing, about our misdeeds in Anjsbourg, as written by the guy who built the house my uncle lives in?"
Anna & Kurt, together: "Hell, no!"
(THEY BURST INTO LAUGHTER)
(FADE OUT)
"...you just wanna be, where everybody knows your name..."

In fairness though, they all have their reasons. Anna doesn't really seem to know *anything* - she just has a gut feeling that Isaac was murdered, a clear case of truthiness. Violet's read the diaries, but I suspect if she mentioned this she might earn herself a smackdown as Anna attempts to equate "dead friend" with "old scrap of paper." If Violet put her old-school knowledge with Kurt's experience of the Gillit Road clean rooms and Monica's death, and then they told Anna... they still wouldn't really get anywhere, other than to comment: "Wow, so this conspiracy actually looks pretty ancient and huge, doesn't it? Crap." And naturally Kurt isn't too keen to reveal how he's been botching police raids in his spare time.

Of course, none of them know about the leaked emails that incriminate one of the AdjSF's and one of the SF's (if only we knew which one!) but let's keep that on the DL for now, eh?

Interesting, so you're saying V is Kevin Spacey. I always knew there was something alien about him Laughing

I wonder if the cube is related directly to whatever WMD they've been making at Viendenbourg. Remember that Zeller was killed and his lab completey wasted while researching the cube? (hmmm, Edward Teller - Hesketh Zeller, nice ring to it)

Say, they're mining a Perplexian equivilent to Plutonium, and the cube is somehow the catalyst for these nuclear style weapons that have scorched Anjsbourg. We know that they used to posses great technologies that they no longer have, I'm assuming the cube is one of those technologies, since forgotten.

Maybe the Third Power have stolen the cube in an effort to prevent more WMD being produced. How's that for a dilemma, you find the cube, do you hand it back to PXC dooming them to an arms race, or refuse 100k?!

Personally, I could use the money to pay for these cards Twisted Evil
