Woo, parcel has just arrived this morning from our lovely friends at Cognivia containing some shiny Perplex City Academy intelligence testing materials!

Haven't had a chance to look through all the bits and pieces yet, but will post in more detail when I have.

Included was a letter which says:

Quote:
Gibbet,

thank you for volunteering to take part in these trials, your help is much Appreciated.

you have been chosen as you were smart enough to correctly answer the Puzzle we set in the earth cgw advert.

please find enclosed the perplex city academy intelligence testing materials which make up this study.

please take your time to Read through the explanation booklet and familiarise yourself with the format of the tests.

If you have any questions regarding how to carry out the tests, please contact us and we shall try to assist you.

good Luck and remember, you will be one of the 1ST on earth to help us improve life for all here in perplex city and for this we are most grateful

regards,

Lola Porif

Cognivia Testing Department

Perplex City

Will post detailed scans of some of the material and other details when i've had a chance for a proper flick-through.

(And it's not elephant Very Happy)

interesting... Gibbet did you use "lightbulb" as your answer?

Just out of interest are you in US or UK? Just wondering if they're sending to only US addresses as the puzzle was in a US magazine...

EDIT: lol... Lola Porif *slaps head*

Awesome! Very Happy Mine arrived in the mail today too!
The letter is the same as Gibbet's, just with my name at the top and I'm guessing the other stuff in the pack is the same as his. No scanners or camera here, so that'll be up to Gibbet to post, or if anyone elses pack arrives and they beat him to the punch Smile

Right! Time to get puzzling!! Only thing is, I submitted Elephant as my answer, so maybe they just took the first 100 logical submissions?

Gibbet, I think it's only right you enlighten people with the answer!

VG though. Laughing Laughing Laughing

EDIT: Ok so I guess it isn't Gibbet's joke, but come on guys...

Yeah, sorry about that guys and galls. It's fun what you can do with a phone camera, photoshop and boredom late at night.
I only wish we'd thought of this earlier, then we could have faked it leading right on to finding the cube Very Happy

Aloha, eh? *fires up Mapquest* Hmmm.... Well, technically it's within driving range, but it's far enough away that I'd have to drive a good hour and a half each way. Not sure it's really worth it. Thanks for telling me, though! I may go there anyway Razz

It was sort of a side conversation between me and swinging along. As far as the phony materials, though, did nobody else notice the letters that were capitalized? Razz

Although I did miss Lola Porif until duckie's post made me actually pay attention.

Well done, guys Razz

[quote="swinging along"]Sure! In another thread someone said they sell cards at Rainy Day Games in Aloha, OR. I'll be jealous if that's close to you. Smile quote]

Cool to see our store mentioned on the forums. Very Happy Yes, we carry the product and most of us are addicted. I still need need some silvers so if local folks want to do trades through the store, just let me know.
