Wow! and the "story so far" page? Much, much better than the one we are used to seeing! Much more informative and kinda throws out the need for the wiki to some degree...

Ahem. Cobblers.
The Story So Far is yay shiny, definitely. It'll help open up the game far, far more than previously, and it's very pretty to look at, and keep up to date with. However, the Wiki is basically the Encyclopedia Perplexia compared to the Sunday Times. If I want to see a slice of the latest news, in shiny colour, I'm going to go to the Story So Far (unless I've already checked the website in question, which is probably going to be the case for UnFiction users) If I want to actually answer some questions, or figure out what X did to Y on Z date, I'll use the Wiki.
They can exist quite happily alongside each other,
J
N.B. The Story So Far, upon further investigation, will be updated several days after the sites featured (i.e. The Sentinel, Kurt/Anna/Violet/Scarlett's blogs) - and it's got links throughout that lead off to various places...including the Wiki, so I think that it'll be something of a symbiotic relationship

Oooooh, has anybody checked their email? There's a lovely missive from Mind Candy, detailing all the changes on the site, announcing Wave 3 and various other bits. Verrrry nice.

It's definitely a lot friendlier to new players, feels much more like a story you can get involved with than it used to. Which is great, because imo that was something they really needed to work on - judging from the people I spoke to at the live event, there were an awful lot of people who buy the cards but had no idea how to get involved with the plot, and the new site should really help with that.
Putting on my web designer hat, a small grumble - I see their 'solution' to the perennial problem of varying screen resolutions is to ignore 800x600. I sympathise, though, small screen sizes are a sod to design for. Of course, so are big ones. And don't get me started on cross-browser compatibility. (Thinks...) Why do I do this again? Oh yes, that old needing not to starve thing.

after mentioning this in IRC t'other day, i know i'm a total geek for even wondering about this, but i always thought the perplexcity.com site was officially in game, and others agreed with me. but now after seeing the explore page, which links to kurt's blog, which i thought he technically wasn't allowed to have, i'm not sure. more than that, the story so far page not only has incriminating excerpts from kurt's blog about his circumspect activities, but it also blows scarlett's cover completely.
so i'm guessing the perplexians can't see this page after all, but are still getting leaderboard information for the sentinel? can't really remember whether the sentinel has linked to the main pxc site or not before now.
<edit> yes the sentinel has linked. </edit>
but anyway, to clear my mind from uber-geeky wonderings, i emailed mind candy about it and will let you all know if i get an answer.
apart from that, the site (in particular, the new top 100 tags page) looks *gorgeous* yay for super shiny ness :)
rach =)

Blasphemy!
The story so far used to be like the trails list, and is now basically just like the sorely-missed updates blog of old.
The wiki is indeed, as Juxta thoughtfully put it, the Encyclopedia Perplexia...where else can you find, for example, a list of how Perplex City Council member Aben Henniker voted on all the major issues? (Right here, for those interested ).
But more seriously, the wiki catalogues every single piece of information that's ever been introduced, and (mostly successfully) cross-references everything as well. It's definitely a symbiotic relationship with the rest of the game sources...it's especially useful when following stories in the Sentinel as they develop, such as the old -> recent Holyoke murder/disappearing wife/her connection to the theft stuff.
