Did anyone else notice that Dave's site has changed? Not that important, just a note.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
BTW, see the link for whoisbenjaminstove? I think this shows who's been doing the puzzles on it... Wink

By the way, since some of us (like me) were not fortunate enough to be around for the original Chasing the Wish I thought I'd provide the link for it's Guide. It's already linked down in the CHasing the Wish section of UF, but I figured it was appropriate to link it here as well - for easier access.

Chasing the Wish Guide

It's a pretty nice guide.. I'm trying to use a similar format for the Orbital Colony Guide I'm working on.

Oh! Hey! Klepsyda appears to have an "Klepsydra.net Mental Health Out-Patient Treatment or Evaluation Facilities" in my hometown of Lancaster, PA...

Interesting...

"Angie" called and left a message for Dale that she was looking for Bruce.

Laughing Bruce has enough girlfriends..wink wink.

I just added all the sites to my favorites. My computer has crashed so many times since CTW I thought I would never see all these places again. It's like going home. This is so neat.

Enaxor just noticed that Anonymous Fame has been updated. Basically its now a blank page saying how Anonymous Fame will be right back.

However you can still get to the "old version" of the page form the last game by adding "/main.html"

You can also get to similar pages by bypassing the Under Construction part of Aglaura's website as well. Such as http://www.aglauranj.org/history.html.

Now the recent addition of this change to Anonymous Fame seems to be an indicator that the old versions of the sites aren't important as they are now. THat we need not pay attention to them. And yet.. why not just take them down entirely? Like on Syntasia's site?

I dunno.

Apparently, multiple sites creatred by Anonymous Fame still exist... www.auraladdiction.com has been mentioned, but www.emptythreats.com is there too. Though, its events calendar still thinks its August 2003.

Anyway... I'm not sure how to take all this. Blargh.

Oh, I had an idea regarding a message to leave Dale at the phone number we have and jsut wanted to run it by you guys before I left it. (In case its a horrible idea)

I was planning on calling and leaving a message for Dale telling him how a 'friend of mine' (ie one of y'all who played CTW 1) also recognized the sliding puzzle from his comic that isn't supposed to have existed... and that that was kinda creepy. I'd also leave my phone number.

Seems like a way to get a ball rolling and make us useful to him in some way. The only detraction I can see is that callign his business with a mention about his side project (the comic) may not be kosher.. but he DID leave the number on the comics website, so I'd suspect he wouldnt mind.

Anyway, I'll call tommorrow either at my lunch break (around 4-5) or after work (9), depending on if I get any resposne from y'all before I leave for work. Of course, if y'all think its a bad idea, then I won't call at all.

Keep in mind a couple of things Dio - at the end of CTW1 - "The Wish" left a message on the website to the effect of a *wink* *wink* you won't remember these events either *nudge* *nudge*

Which is one reason why I have decided that for myself - even if I DO remember the stuff and can go re-read our forums _ I will not be attempting to bring up the information directly. I will be using it to help me formulate more questions to ask the characters, but I don't want to go shocking them with "I remember everything!"

Others may disagree with that and are free to proceed in their own direction.

Edited for minor spelling error

hmm Excellent point MageSteff. However, clearly some people remembered bits and pieces of it, so while my "friend" may have remembered seeing the sliding puzzle.. they don't remember everything else.

Much like the daughter who some how still remembers the puzzle although she shouldn't I would assume we could similarly have fragments.. shadowy unimportant fragments.. but fragments.

In my (admittedly drunk) mind, were are actually following the rules set down by the story revealed to us thus far. Some people in the town have fragments of memories or conflicting ideas and so on. Dale has his dreams. Clearly "The Wish" was not 100% effective. Now having one of us remember MAJOR details from the story, I agree would ruin the spirit... but to say "Hey my friend thinks he's seen that sliding puzzle before (maybe on some website) he's not sure though... but its kinda weird that itd give him deja vu" or just simply "My friend said he had the oddest sense of deja-vu when I showed him that sliding puzzle"

If anything, its playing into the PMs universe.

Anyway, as I ended up going out right after work and I'm drunk now (don't want to leave a slurred voicemail) I will not call until tomorrow.

Given the metaphysical/psychological background from the first game, and loads of research (I'll do the background google work later folks) into what the growing mind of children are able to accomplish (why can I spell accomplish and not capable?) her clear memory to others fuzzy memory may be because children are laying down so many *more* permanent connections when they are young compared to adults, and children don't really don't have that mental boundary between the world of reality and the world of dreaming that adults usually do. It could be the added stress imposed by Don Marzano caused the memory wipe to be inefficient because of the extrodinary circumstances (the planitary alignment, the number of people involved as deeply as they were, etc.) that The Wish's ability to alter the memories was compromised.

AAs for me, I called and left a "Hi Dale, haven't heard from you in a few years, How are you doing?" message along with my home phone #.

I wonder if the comic will have any clues in it when it goes on sale?

Intruiging view. I'll have to mull this over and maybe think of an alternate message to leave while I'm at work (gotta leave in 15 mins... stupid Borders Cafe). I'm inclined to go with you as you were around for the first game and thus have a better instinctive understanding of the universe it operates in.

I like this though. Dave's writing, that is. The fact that it opens the door for such discussions on the metaphjysical nature of things is awesome.

A couple of us were talking about that in chat the other day. I, personally, am sure it will. As such, I will be putting in for a preorder thing on April 14, even forgoeing my ability to get a discount via Borders in favor for getting it earlier.

/me runs over to Shelina and takes her hand and leans in to giggle and whisper like a school kid with a secret.

I don't have any secrets, I'm just excited to be playing in the CTW universe again. Wink

We have an update! I think we're getting closer. Very Happy

http://www.thewishcomic.com/registration/index.html

After registering I received this email from Dale.

Quote:
Thanks for registering to receive news, information, and special offers about my comic book series, Chasing The Wish. The first issue of the comic book will be released shortly and you'll start getting messages from me with more information even sooner. So hold on, it's going to be quite a ride.
