Tippy Ankron's Email On a whim, I tried to email Tippy today, hoping the Academy might have given her tippy.ankronSPLAT perplexcityacademy.com. I tried this a while back with Anna Heath, before we knew her address, and that bounced. This time, it worked.
I got an autoresponse, but I can't seem to find mention of this email address anywhere in these forums, or on the wiki.
Quote:
Hey,
I can't believe that some random people on Earth have got my email address. I
mean, obviously, I can see why people would want it. Like, so they can email
me. But really, what am I supposed to do with a bunch of emails from Earth?
You don't honestly think I am going to reply, do you?
I mean, who gets email from Earth? No one, who's anyone. Really, Earth was in
vogue in like, I don't know, the teens, or something.
So, anyway, Von said I should just put an auto responder on here that checks
for Earth mail and points out that I really don't have time for this. He also
seems to think I should give you some links to some other places here at
Perplex City, in case you don't have anything else to do, or something. I
don't see why I should bother, but if it means you won't email me again, I
suppose...
So, I don't know, you could try The Academy (www.perplexcityacademy.com), or
The Sentinel (www.perplexcitysentinel.com). I don't know where else, most of
the places that I go to wouldn't thank me if I gave out their email
addresses, let alone to people from Earth who think it's okay just to
randomly email busy professional people.

Actually I disagree, I think the complete oposite, I think it is the complete wrong time to email tippy, the auto responder basically says go and look elsewhere. [TIAG] Surely we will be told the email when we need it [/TIAG]/[TINAG] Surely she doesn't want to look at earth mail at the momant [/TINAG] (delete as applicable).

It seems somewhat strange that a member of CRT would be like soooo uninterested in Earth emails like ya know? Even one as tootally "cool" as Tippy

Could love-struck Von be the way to go?
We could persude him that we (us and he) can make her look great and punish the mean ol' Hesh.
Cruel to be kind and all that....

So, V on doesn't want us speaking to her, eh?
But we already know "V" is Cyrus Hesh?

I dont know if anyones noticed but the sentinel mentions the report in the "more news in brief" section it may seem simple but can't we just ask someone from perplex city to get more info on where it came from and how far in depth the article goes? If so who should we ask?

anyway, has anyone emailed tippy about hesh/cognivia yet? i personally don't think the auto responder would even be on if we weren't supposed to, she might sound mean but she's probably just trying to sound cool and aloof - she loves us really, she just wants to give us a challenge. either way, i'm gonna wait til jojojojo gets an email back off anna i think.
rach =)

The good/bad news is that my email to Von hasn't bounced back but it also hasn't had any auto-response.

Gah! Am I the only one who thinks this is the wrong way to think about this sort of thing. It implies that we are looking at this as a story, with the plot already decided and MC being the ones to decide when we talked to Tippy.
I thought the whole point of the interaction/ARG thing was that the story wasn't set in stone, and I *really* want to believe that we could move the game in a different direction if we really worked hard enough.
Lets be honest, if the whole story line is set in stone, its looking a bit clichéd isn't it?

No, I agree Jakeo. I don't think Tippy's email address being activated is an accident. We found a way to communicate with her, so go ahead and do so.
If your suggestions to Tippy take the story in a direction that MC does not want to pursue, Tippy won't respond or act. Other than that, I don't see any harm in trying to see if we can involve Tippy. If the story takes a twist as a result of Tippy's actions, then so be it. It's not like we're going to turn the page to find a "sorry you screwed up, this game is over, the cube is lost forever" message.

Hey, just a quick question, but do we actualy know anyone thats tried emailing tippy before? at that address? Because for all we know, it could have been activated from the start. I mean, she said earth was en vogue in the teens, but we know that recently it has become a faily hotter topic what with the book, and the whole fact that the cube is on earth. Surely that makes us en vogue? Could it simply be the fact that it was an auto reply and MC have not updated the auto reply to sound a bit more..well..up to date?
I duno, just pointing out a less exciting theory here. Although looking at the other thread with the whole "finding a cognivia shareholder" thing maybe she is just less enthusiastic about earth and earthlings than some PXC people.
Feel free to rain on my parade

I tried emailing all of them at the time that Garnet's generated a response. Tippy's didn't work then.
