I was under the impression they were saying "Studio Cypher Does Not Exist".

Change this error message for pages not found in public/404.html

Most likely just a server config error, but thought I'd share.

Sometimes FastCGI is is a little too fast for the rest of the system. In this case it's probably that the htaccess process wasn't ready to decide on a 404 display, yet.

They are using rail_stat to track visits, it seems to throw a quick error on 404's.

Now the oroborus is at the 4 o'clock position.

7654...?

Here's the code from the swf for the ouroboros.

Code:
onClipEvent( MouseMove ){
    _root.drawSquare()
    updateAfterEvent ()
    }

function rotate_ouroboros () {
    d = new Date ()
    sec_time = d.getHours() * 60 * 60 + (d.getMinutes() * 60) + d.getSeconds()
    sec_time = sec_time / 2
    _root.ouroboros._rotation = 360 - (sec_time / 43200 * 360)
    setInterval (rotate_ouroboros,60000)
    }
function drawSquare () {
    x = _root._xmouse
    y = _root._ymouse
    _root.square.attachMovie("brush", "brush" + num, num)
    _root.square["brush" + num]._x = x
    _root.square["brush" + num]._y = y
    num = num + 1
    }
rotate_ouroboros ()
_root.createEmptyMovieClip("square", 0)
_root.black.setMask(_root.square)
var num = 0

I don't know exactly what it it means but it looks like it grabs the time then follows an equation to determine the position of the ouroboros. Can someone who actually knows flash explain what's going on here?

It's code to move the Ourobobos counterclockwise at a rate of 15 degrees per hour where midnight is 0/360 degrees and Noon is 180 degrees(6 o'clock).
He does one counterclockwise rotation for each 24 hour period.

The interval componet tells it to refresh every 60 seconds.

Also, how creepy is that I've been to Hachita, NM (at least rolled through it). Never heard of them talking backwards, however. *slow blink*

Hachita is clearly going to be important. Everyone has heard of the Philadelphia Experiment (or can Google it) but the only thing I can find that happened in Hachita last June had to do with the "Minutemen" border dust-up.

I did learn that there is an "Old" Hachita (a ghost town) and a new Hachita. I'll be watching for anything 'new' about the 'old' town Wink

I need to get a more exact time measurement, but the flash page has caused browser lock-ups on WinXP on a regular basis. (On two different computers...perhaps they have the same version of the Flash player.) It makes the hard drive go crazy and in the task manager, the browser is displayed as not responding.

The hard drive activity could be due to virtual memory/swap if the flash page causes the player to leak memory.

I will test on Linux tomorrow.

Whatever it is, I suppose I have to remember to close the Flash page, but other Flash sites don't have this problem.

Make that 3 XP machines. Mine goes south at right around an hour on a 1.5 Ghz Intel w/256megs.

Along with the Gray O there are now red letters spelling out cypher.

I'm still trying to figure out the Hachita, NM thing...

Well, now the Gray O is almost invisible. I'll monitor it to see if it's fading based on time or if it's just that my work machine shows it much more plainly.

The red "cypher" letters have been there every time I've looked at it, though.

There has to be something up with the NM clue, but I'm not smart enough to grasp it. Can't find any likely historical info and the only anagrammic avenues for "Hachita NM" I get are:
MAIN HATCH (A little too "Lost")
MATH CHAIN (No Numbers to play with)
CHINA MATH (See Number 2)

Googling for "atihcaH" produces one interesting result. A "Backwards" (It's a Weird Wide Web out there.) version of a Froogle search for "grass seed", but no "on- page" reference to Hachita (forwards or backwards).

The hit in Google included the string:
Code:
'atihcaH' silicarg auoletuoB ssarg fruT amarG eulB

Which, when reversed, gives:
Code:
Blue Grame Turf grass Bouteloua gracilis 'Hachita'

So... Nada. Bummer!

Hrm, intriguing...
Finally! Getting into an ARG on the ground floor! this will be a first.

some random observations:
The head of the Ourobobos is going in a counter-clockwise fashion, much like a mirrored clock. It's four in the morning here, and the head is at the nine position. off-set by an hour, not sure what that could mean.

Calligraphy: The "O" that we are finding appears to be a caligraphic script. This could be nothing, or it could lead to the fact that the cyphers we may run into won't be focused on algorithms, but more things along the lines of the MQOS stuff.

I realize that these are essantially useless ramblings, but at least I'm thinking. An impressive feat at this hour.

*EDIT*
So looking back at the email that sueno recieved, there must be correlations to time travel/tunneling/general muckery. The philly project is tied to the Montauk project, which is heavily steeped in screwing with time and mind control:
ABJECT FREE-ASSOCIATION:
The erasers are a group of people tied to the Philly Proj. They are the ones responsible for making sure the world seems to be a normal place, and not letting the general populace know about alternate lifelines, mind-control radio, and other nefarious somesuch.

And of course, the Cyphers want everyone to know the details and fight the good fight. Huzzah!

I swear, if we have to deal with Aleister Crowley, I may pee my pants.
