The revolution just called me....the info we're looking for is on the JINX site( http://www.jinx.com/scripts/details.asp?affid=-1&productID=136 )...we should be looking for Eden (EDIT: EDDAN KATZ webpage: http://journalism.berkeley.edu/projects/biplog/archive/000748.html Eddan Katz was the person who updated the lyrics to "the revolution will not be televised") somthing... he said something about Gil Heron Scott is what we will find, but that's not what we should be looking for(? sorry, i made the mistake of answering the phone, so i have only my memory to turn to)

The site will be up again on Friday at midnight (i assume that means 11:00 for us central time zone people) and we shouldn't have a problem finding it then.

Gil Scott-Heron.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials,
Because the revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruptions.
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John
Mitchell, General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be brought to you by the
Schaefer Award Theatre and will not star Natalie
Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia.
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal.
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs.
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
thinner, because the revolution will not be televised, Brother.

There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run,
or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
or report from 29 districts.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of Whitney Young being
run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process.
There will be no slow motion or still life of Roy
Wilkens strolling through Watts in a Red, Black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the proper occasion.

Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville
Junction will no longer be so damned relevant, and
women will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock
news and no pictures of hairy armed women
liberationists and Jackie Onassis blowing her nose.
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb,
Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom
Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat.

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.

Also.....The Revolution did not bother to block his phone number. When i called it back it screamed in my ear, so it sounds like a fax number.

239-549-2064

Anyone with a fax machine, please fax something! Otherwise, I'll try tomorrow.

Just so we have a link to the history of the phrase:

This is a more relevant wiki article about said phrase:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_revolution_will_not_be_televised

Magesteff's link is for a 2002 film about Hugo Chavez.

Hello all, I've been doing some catching up on a few of these "projects", really new to ARGing, so be gentle.

On the jinx's page for the shirt in the comments is this post

Quote:

pirates > ninjas: hah, ravenfyre just gave me an idea ^_^ but people would look at me funny... especially my sister -.- oh, and technically revolution actually is an AOL keyword >_< takes you to some place called http://www.revolution.com/index.cfm?page=Is&dir=Steve Razz

Something? Nothing? Please no trout I hope....[/quote]

What I gather from that message is this: At the JINX site, on the bottom of the ad for the t-shirt, is the link to the original poem, but it also links to the Eddan Katz site. Problem is, that was one of the sites I had in my browser the other night at midnight to refresh and I saw nothing. There are tons of links on that site within the poem. (Hy, remember the DOD link?) Just in case his site doesn't magically appear, I suggest we all take a stanza of the poem to check it's links so we don't run out of time.

I'll commit to #1

Had this mega break thru/ possible inspiration…REVOLUTION called last night…his call is at the end of this post. After the call, James Blond and I talked about the mysterious email that scyne got on Sunday. James dug thru chat logs and found : "____no-ip.info"

Adding this info with revolution's message, I think we should try something along the lines of

http://eddankatz.no-ip.info or
http://www.eddankatz.no-ip.info

something similar to the above until we get it.

Good luck guys! I hope someone saves a copy of whatever you're supposed to download, because I don't want to be the only one without that file!

I doubt this anything to do with anything, but I'm going to throw it out there.

Matthew Good made a song called 21st Century Living, and it contains the verse

Quote:
Our ambition will televise the revolution
And it'll sell more ****ing commercial spots than the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the World Series, and the Tragedy Du Jour
combined

Scyne popped into yarradio just now and PMd me....now he's calling me...will post more after the conversation.

Quote:
Captain_Scyne Hey
Hyexistenz hey!
Hyexistenz what's up? is something wrong?
Captain_Scyne Can we talk? I mean on the phone?
Hyexistenz um.....
Captain_Scyne We thought this would work.....
Hyexistenz yeah....sure
Hyexistenz who is "we"
Captain_Scyne jason and I....
Hyexistenz oh....ha, ok
Hyexistenz um....do you need my phone number i guess
Captain_Scyne here's my number 239-236-0262.....

EDIT: after the phone call...it appears that both Jason and Scyne are scared, keymaker is now leaving notes for them in their real worlds that say "don't let them see you're afraid." As such, Scyne would like to meet with us! On saturday, he will be at the Starbucks off of college parkway in ft Meyers from 5 until the starbucks closes. he wears mostly all black, but will probably have his red comp USA shirt on. I think this is our invitation. I'm sad i can't go!

OK folks who do we have in the South Florida area? Other than me...

I'll drive, but I really want to have company so the trip isn't totally wasted if we miss the guys.
