#132 [Ivy] Ales of the Earth Again - apologies I have no scanner so could someone else please do the honours.
All the puzzle consists of is a series of 60 close-ups of beer logos.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's a lot like Vexillology. You have to find the names of all the different beers and then, taking the first letter from each one and reading l-r and t-b, it spells out
'Which brewer? One letter back from closed in the early nineteen-forties.'
(admittedly I couldn't find a couple of the more obscure labels and had to guess one or two letters but I'm 99% sure that's the right message.)
I haven't got any further than that yet because my brain melted.
I think the guest card author is R Tate but it's quite hard to read.
The map on the back shows Meadow Road tube station, Restructure Art Gallery and Manifold Concert Hall.
Quote:
Restructure Art Gallery
"How do I get out?" is the phrase heard most often in the Restructure Art Gallery - not because visitors dislike it, but because the city's newest gallery can reconfigure its walls, floors and external appearance in real time to accomodate and rotate its vast collections.
Manifold Concert Hall
Founded in 241, the Manifold Concert Hall is the city's most prestigious location for musical performances of all kinds. After initial complaints, the concert hall's acoustics were reworked to provide a clearer experience.

I think you are missing a letter here. I haven't got all the beers, so, like you, I have made some parts up.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I got " Which brew is one letter back from ***ose* in the early nineteen forties" Don't have beers for the first "is" so may be wrong. Your closed though is one letter too short for that middle bit - I thought maybe "a closet" - pretty weak and don't have any beer names that back that up - have you got positive id's for any of these letters?

The one letter I couldn't get was the important one.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I had:
"Which brewer one letter back from ? closed in the early nineteen forties"
but now I know it's an R that is missing, thanks.
I haven't found the answer yet though.
PS - attached map for Daffy (only 75 dpi, not sure what is allowed).

The number on this thread is wrong, and should be 132.
EDIT: and you need to say
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
brewery
in the answer

you only had to name them, not drink them! but now you mention it, that's not a bad idea, who's up for a 132 challenge?

I just googled:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
brewery closed 1942
and it came up in the 5th or 6th result.
