I've been enduring the occasional sour looks at our Saturday dinners, presumably because I "let Kurt get away," but until just tonight it was pretty easy to smile sweetly and sidestep the issue. You know I've been spending a bit of time with Caine, and I have now discovered that the tongues of certain people have been flapping on that count. Apparently, at some sort of CRT meeting yesterday, my father was talking to Caine about some trivial fact or other regarding the history of the city, and said, "You know, you may not be so familiar with my daughter Violet, but she's really quite an expert on this. Perhaps you should take some of your questions to her."

And Aiko, who we all know is not my biggest fan, arched her eyebrows high in the air and said, "Oh, don't worry, Caine is very familiar with everything about Violet."

You may not have seen it for yourself, but I'm sure you can just picture the storm clouds gathering in those eyebrows of his at that.

Well, apparently the meeting was ended somewhat abruptly so that Caine could have some sort of man-to-man discussion with my father, the details of which Caine has not divulged to me. And then Caine cancelled our plans together. And at dinner tonight with my dad, I was subjected to a lengthy diatribe on how very unsuitable it would be for Caine and I to be together. I have a reputation to uphold as a part of a prominent public family, not to mention my own future to think of, and hadn't he raised me better than that? I think he might have forbade me to socialise with ruffians or some such thing, but by the time we got there the blood was pounding in my ears so hard I couldn't really hear what he was saying.

So I asked him what he'd rather I do, try to seduce Kurt and make him my love slave? You've never seen a man turn so many shades of purple. It's a bit surprising he didn't have some sort of seizure, really. After that I got out pretty quickly. But honestly, I'm an adult, and free to live my own life, so this whole thing is utterly ridiculous.

And the most irritating part is that just because Caine and I have been going out lately - as friends, I mean - everybody is assuming there's some sort of relationship happening. Because really, there's nothing going on between us. At all. And if there were, it certainly wouldn't be anything serious.

Anyway, I've never missed Scarlett so much in my life.

 		Poor Violet. It sounds like everyone over there is almost as interested in her love life as we are.

On the plus side, it's sounding more and more likely that Caine will be our next contact. (Unless we missed some clue that's already out there. I'm thinking those gaddam numbers on Insights.)

 		Oh, she tries to be so edgy, doesn't she? But it's always "as friends." They're always "just getting to know each other." Even Kurt actually spends the weekends in faraway hotels with his girlfriend! Coming soon on the Story So Far:

 		I'm given to think she really means it when she says she and anyone else aren't ever going to be an item. I mean, it's good fFor a laugh -- Ho ho! Us! Dating! Hah Hah! -- but it seems to be really wearing on her at this point. When she's in "Protest too much" mode, she's more .. uhm .. transparent. on this point, she seems really quite certain: no, she and kurt are not going to be hooking up any time this century. That's just .. weird. And, I mean, Kurt is so stuffy! it simply wouldn't do. Caine has potential, sure. And it bugs her fFather! bonus!

But really, of course, someone should introduce Violet to Juxta.

Nor I, duckie. I mean...yeah...

I think Violet and Caine would be kinda cute Smile It makes about as much sense as me and my girlfriend, so it isn't like it wouldn't work out

Anyway. Interesting that the Master of the Academy, an institution which prides itself as an intellectual meritocracy (free tuition, all who desire to encouraged to apply, etc), should be such a social elitist. Sente selected Caine for the Cube Retrieval Team for reasons that I'm sure go beyond his dark-rocker persona Razz Wonder if there's any reason beyond parental overprotection/control/happy ending issues that Sente needs Violet to be with Kurt...

 		sorry for being incompetant but I wasn't here for many months....

What happened to kurt?

I've been away from the game for a while last time I was on scarlet just go her job near vindenburough (sorry about the spell), and scarlet and kurt were investigating things at the archives for us...

(sorry about not using search but sometimes you need to be pointed at what to search for to get relevent information)
