sent out anohter e-mail asking about his position in the cyphers...
he seems rather isolated, don't ya think?

Mayhaps something bigger is going on that they don't want him to know about?

Just noticed on www.studiocypher.com/cypher that he says shunyata is the bosses pet! so Shunyata is not the top dog, i.e. dont think the shunyata=god thing will lead anywhere! but I may well be wrong!

hmmm...even after blowing the picture up, I still can't make out the text...so I have really no idea...

It looks a lot like a professional company page as opposed to a quick ARG page....but I dunno

Well the guy who owns the site is the only person according to whois so it is either a previous version of the current page or a clue the whois has somehow grabbed, which I doubt!

Studio Cypher was originally supposed to be the front for a company (of the same name). This company would create ARGs, much like the more infamous 'Mind Candy' and '42 Entertainment'. I think the owners wanted to capitalize on the end of Ideafest, and wanted to get something up to keep the players it had gained, hence www.studiocypher.com turned from a promotional company site to an ARG.

Maybe, to the inclined, I might suggest looking for a cached site that would have the whole site? The minimized image is impossible to read.

I signed up a couple days ago. I'm excited though I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute since this is the first ARG I've participated in versus lurking and enjoying the vicarious thrills.

Hi, Thenre. I'm Kevin, as you probably know.

We aren't really concerned with truth qua truth. There are all sorts
of
truths that just aren't worth searching for (like the name of that
restaurant in Atlanta that once served you terrible fried catfish).
Primarily, our concern is the preservation of the weird. We prefer
Bigfoot to strip malls and leprechaun dances to TV sitcoms.

When I say 'we' on the front page, I really mean 'they' as in the rest
of
the Cyphers. I signed up after the Hachita incident and all I know is
what I can overhear. They're touchy about it. I'm pretty sure the
Erasers were involved somehow, but I don't know how...

Oh, I wouldn't refuse to answer (unless you're asking where we are;
can't
be too careful). Asking questions is something that should be
encouraged.
However, thinking should also be encouraged, so I won't always answer
clearly. Welcome to the Cyphers.

Sent this out a few days ago and just got the response. It seems as though kevin is the new guy looking to update the "company". Concerned with the wierd? He doesn't seem to take his job seriously. I don't think Shunyata is "God" either. He might be powerful in a supernatural way...but I think God has more important things to do than save the "wierd" as Kevin calls it. The way he phrased it before could also have been simply a metaphor for him coming down from his office... That's just my thoughts on the whole thing though...

I also found that the author is posting about electromagnitic weather controling.

Maybe this is how it connects to the manhattan Project?

I thoughty it was te philadelphia project

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/pages/philadelphia.html

maybe my memory is just failing me...

but this does seem to fit perfectly into the weird that mustn't be erased

And did I miss a link to the chemtrails?

It seems to be brought up a lot but I don't see the conection other than the conspiracy theory[/quote]

I thought it was the Philadelphia experiment too. Here is another link.

For those from Ben Stove, You should recognize the name Charles Berlitz(Bermuda Triangle. He wrote a book about the Philadelphia experiment.

Ok, "God" was the wrong word obviously Wink

In Buddhism, Shunyata is the "Absolute Reality" the all-encompassing Nothing which is Everything. The nearest thing to that concept in monotheist Christianity is God, but frankly I would have no interest in playing an ARG with God Wink Shunyata is more an ultimate state of being than an actual omnipotent Being, if that makes sense.

Still, I don't think I'd like to call Shunyata a nobody to his unsmiling, tattooed face Wink

Shunyata is also Zero, and Zero is Cypher, so perhaps the message is that the game itself is the ultimate reality? TINAG?

At any rate, the meager clues we have thus far - Shunyata, the Ouroboros, the grey 0 in the background - all represent Zero, the cypher. They are also all linked to alchemy, as was the Philadelphia Experiment via Tesla whom some believe rediscovered the Secret Fire, the Serpent Power which transmutes base metals to gold.

Just a lot of spec while we await our training. I just hope training doesn't involve calisthenics. I hate jumping jacks.

regards
Synch

I believe that "Shunyata" is just a symbolic name. He may just be an employee of the Cyphers, and maybe the Cyphers arenīt unnatural at all (Even if they do mess with it). But, then, itīs just a simple theory with no base at all.

Thank you! "Symbolic" is what I should have said to begin with! I did not mean "God" in a literal way Wink

All of my spec thus far in this thread has been about what our clues symbolize. Shunyata, the grey "O", the Ouroboros are all symbols that represent "zero" or "cypher". Thus, I don't think it's an accident that our tattooed friend was named Shunyata, but very much part of the over-all theme.

Also, I think this is going to be a very smart, well-planned and well tied-together game. Of course, that slick homepage says that, as well Smile

I have to laugh that someone whose nickname means "emptiness" has tattoos - as if he is trying to fill the space...
