I shall hand it to the "I work in a science lab" part of my team once I'm convinced I can't solve it another way. there appear to be shiny marks on the card, but I don't think they were there when I first opened it, so it's possible someone in the house dropped something on it.

well, I managed to create a second pretty felt-tip pen trace of the card. Still no dice though.

also, I've managed to generate evil skeleton mickey mouse. Doubt this has anything to do with solving the card though.

looking at this card, the theory of collective consciousness comes to mind.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_consciousness have a look.

That last line makes me sit up and think too... "It is a way of describing how an entire community comes together to share similar values" seems to link in with the whole community aspect of pxc.

Can't see a pattern or significance, but there must be some reason why some balls have different numbers of 'orbits' around them - four, five and six.
Also it seems to me that no two balls are exactly the same colour - could Pantone numbers come into it?
Just thinking out loud...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I noticed the same thing, no two exactly the same. I'm gonna try to assign values to them though photoshop and see what pops out, if anything. Notice also the way the "waves" emanate from each ball. The second gap from the ball is smaller than the first one, the ones thereafter increase in size. No ball has more than six circles around it. In fact, I think they all have 6, don't they, in the same pattern? Almost every ball is arranged such that it could be in orbit around another (the center of each ball lies on one of the "orbits" of another ball). I also think that each ball is a different size but I have not scrupulously measured them, so that is just speculation. Oh, here's something cool: hold the card with the title to the right - the group of balls on the bottom (ten balls) are connected (in terms of having balls in orbit) to each other but not to the balls on top with EXCEPT by way of the small yellow ball on the right about 1/3 of the way down. Without that connection, the two sets of balls have no common linkage. That must mean something. Actually, I may know what it means but I need to see the solve box first *excited*

Anyone looked at what the solve box looks like? I'm having problems with the PXC website at this moment or I would do it myself.

solve page says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
'what is the answer?' and has a regular, single-line textbox

there are several balls that only have 4 'orbits' and some that have 5.

It's strange how the "faces" are only looking in four different directions.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I managed to come up with a moiety in the faces that allows you to choose a small number of them as "different" - however, they don't form an interesting pattern. I was hoping I'd get a constellation or something. (I could fudge it to get something akin to casseopiea, so I tried entering that in, but it didn't work. Starting to run out of ideas now.

The other thing that is interesting from a perspective point of view, is that bigger balls appear underneath smaller ones (the opposite to what would be expected if we were considering a 'depth' to the image)....except for one pink ball in the top left area, its on top of a smaller green ball.

I guess (as others have mentioned) that some colour or size based order could be important to this puzzle, perhaps in terms of increasing size or colour density/RGB values.

Also, does it appear that the ones with less rings around them have 'inner' rings removed rather than 'outer', from the spacing trends? These initially reminded me of ripples, such as when a rock is thrown into water. Now as I sit here looking at it I am reminded of photoelectron spectroscopy, which I am sure is completely off track....this is indeed a very puzzling puzzle!

ive looked at it under a uv

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
nothing that I can see straight off - however the eyes of the 2 larger balls might have something but as its black I cant make out if its just the colour Censored ing up my eyes. It looks like an equalls sign but I seriously cant vouch for this without anyone else looking at it.

If it is its teeny

I agree with donxkey that the most noticeable feature is that there are only 4 directions of gaze, which fits with the clue that the eyes have it. This compares with ? no colour agreement, different sizes and ripples. I've tried joining up similar gazes with no success. They look a bit like a spot the ball competition where you deduce the position of the ball from gazes, but some are looking the opposite way from their neighbour. There are a lot of headrush links on the net; a film, music, games, asychronous programming/learning techniques and a book.
I can confirm it isn't

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
orthostatic intolerance; the name for the condition headrush
or paintball, which I got from headrush.com and the appearance of the balls plus the comment about pantone

One person (Trevor Jarvis) solved it today.
Hopefully, he'll come in and nudge us in the right direction... ? Confused

Just for reference, I make it 41 spheres altogether

14 are looking down/right
7 are looking down/left
13 are looking up/left
7 are looking up/right

Thought it might be quarks making up the protons and neutrons in an element
(proton = 2 up quarks one down quark)
(neutron = 1 up quark two down quarks)

Close to nitrogen and carbon 14, but not close enough!
