Just signed up. Hopefully I'll be of help!

For future reference, I live in Albuquerque, NM. About 5.5 hours from Hachita (according to Google Maps), a few less to Las Cruces (I've driven it several times).

Ouroboros Pop Culture Reference #789

Red Dwarf-
Dave Lister found as an abandoned baby in a box marked Ouroborus in a Liverpool Pool Hall. Barmaid assumes its the illiterate parents guess's at names for the kid, ie. "our rob or ross".

Dave grows up joins Juptier Mining Corp and thorugh a bizarre series of events involving multiple realities, statis fields and time travel ends up as the last human alive (until his ex turns up via an alternate dimention) and becoming his own father thus ensuring the human races continuous on ad infinitum ater a fashion.

I think the low budget comedy show used it better than millenium, but thats just my opinion.

I signed up earlier today... is it SOP for an ARG to ask for a home address like this? Has anyone been sent items in the mail for a game like this?

I dunno what SOP stands for...but It appears that several ARGs request personal info or require some form of physical intereaction with the real world...or at least that place outside of one's room widely accepted as the real world

Hmmmm

And yes I do know that patience is a virtue.....but who ever said I was virtuous, I live in Liverpool for jebus sake! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Some ARGs send real world items to people to enhance the story. There's something about having a tangible item that makes an ARG that much more satisfying. ILB was discovered when jars of honey were delivered. LCP had poker chips. WIBS has their random pile of crap heirlooms.

It doesn't happen in all ARGs, but it's real exciting when it does.

/me is still waiting for the damned 360, though. Very Happy

Cyphers were mentioned, but webmasterSPLATstudiocypher.com is on ... every?... page on the bottom.

It could be that all e-mails dump into one account and Kevin just reads them all, too.

email reply about erasers

I just recieved a reply about a simple question I asked which was "can you tell me about your last run-in with the Erasers?"

here is the response:
Quote:

I'd love to, but first I'd have to know myself.

The last time I asked Shunyata, he just looked at me with those flat
eyes
of his and said:

The Zen master Sozan was once asked what the most valuable thing in the
world is.

The master replied, "The head of a dead cat."

The student inquired, "Why is that the most valuable thing in the
world?"

Sozan replied, "No one can name its price."

That cat gives me the creeps, you dig?

-- K

It was suprising...I sent the email, and not more than 3 minutes later I got a response. I'm not sure what time it is where they are at, but it's almost 10pm here.
