I think the low budget comedy show used it better than millenium, but thats just my opinion.

A dwarf reference....Kudos! I agree, it was one of the better endles circle bit's I've seen.

Email about his parents:

Not yet, but eventually I plan to set up a chat room for Wakeful

His parents were rich and cared too much about money to care for him and so he says they weren't his parents? This guys past seems a little twisted. Makes me wonder how he came into contact with the Cyphers in the first place.

Ok, does anyone else think that with this statement

"Codes and ciphers will abound, I'm sure (would you expect anything
different with our name?), but not for their own sake."

He is trying to tell us that the 4 sets of code on the www.studiocypher.com/cypher page means something?

I am referring to the mary queen of scots and windings stuff! will have a look at the translations later when I get the time!

I think that means that the puzzles will all have real reasosns for their inclusion in the games and not just there simply because someone said "i know! Let's add a puzzle here! It would be so Kewl!!!11!" i.e. no puzzles just for the puzzle's sake.

Well, in my opinion, those puzzles were just an introduction to what we are going to experience. It won´t be what will guide us to a whole new plot, but it would be a great form to addopt ourself to the game universe.

I send an email to Kevin:

I wrote:

Hello Kevin.
You Cyphers tells us all the time that you're fighting for the truth, for what is real.
So if that's true, I have my own question...
Are YOU real?
Flesh and bones?
What do you mean by having no parents, Kevin? And why are you including us? Who are you, Kevin? And more important, WHAT are you?

Kevin responded:
Quote:
Ah, now you're starting to ask the right questions!

-- K

This didn´t helped much, so I wrote back:

I wrote:

The question can be fine, but I´m not sure about the answers... Are you going to respond some of them?

At least we know what answers we should search for. I´m waiting for an email from Kevin.

Just got a reply which references the inclusion of the codes and the ouroboros:

Subject : Re: Ouroboros

No worries. Any further conversation will have to wait for a while
anyway, since I'm headed out on a field mission tomorrow.

Not that unusual. Well... not that unusual as Cyphers stuff goes. I
tried to get the rest of the Cyphers to give as much input as they wanted
so that this wouldn't be "Kevin's crazy idea," it would be the Cypher's
crazy idea. For example, Burke really wanted to have some codes in the
background and those got in.

It appears they were placed there for stylistic views, unless Burke is trying to tell us something...

That first line is from a Robert Burns poem, published in 1795.

Quote:
How cruel are the parents
Who riches only prize,
And to the wealthy booby
Poor Woman sacrifice!
Meanwhile, the hapless Daughter
Has but a choice of strife;
To shun a tyrant Father's hate—
Become a wretched Wife.

The ravening hawk pursuing,
The trembling dove thus flies,
To shun impelling ruin,
Awhile her pinions tries;
Till, of escape despairing,
No shelter or retreat,
She trusts the ruthless Falconer,
And drops beneath his feet.

Great Lord
to kevin

acording to some fellow friends of the nut house, it seems you want e-mails coming to this address so things won't be read on the public e-mail...

there seems to be some hostility towards you at studio cypher, do you believe that there could be someone at the studio who doesn't have the supernaturals' best interests in mind?

Perhaps someone with more devious intentions...

or maybe your orginization has a bigger plot abound, one that they may not feel the need to tell you about, you being new and all

Do you know if there's a way we can contact any of the other members? Are there any other new members like you?

~Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition~

kevinSPLATstudiocypher.com
to me

There's no real hostility, the rest of the Cyphers just aren't a very
trustful bunch. Except for Burke, but she gets such a sad look in her
eyes when I start asking her about Hachita that I just can't press her.

The Cyphers certainly do have wheels within wheels, so there probably are
plans that I'm not privy to. On the other hand, I don't tell them
everything I'm doing either. Why bug them about web protocols when I can
just fix things up myself? Maybe they're the same way about the
supernatural. They are trained professionals after all.

I'm the most recent member and I haven't even been here a year. The next
most recent might be Burke or it might be Lane. Not Shunyata, certainly.

All of us have email, but I'm the only one who consistently responds. How
can I put this... they're not really people people, dig?

-- K

hmmm...I'm gonna try e-mailing Burke...though I doubt I'll get a response

Out of interest I googled Studio Cypher to find an interesting result.

Some guy called Will Emigh (could this be the Cypher Will) appeared to write a blog entry on Studio Cypher on March 23rd 2006, but clicking on the appropriate link it says that no article was written on that date. However, Googles cache for the site says otherwise, here.

Not sure what this means, but its quite interesting in my opinion.

EDIT:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On further background reading, I've discovered that Will Emigh is part of the company which formed Studio Cypher when it had given off the intention of creating multiplayer-novels and not being an actual ARG in itself. So maybe Emigh decided to take a more active role and created himself as a character.

Not sure if this is a spoiler but better safe than sorry, right?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Will is mentioned in the April 9th, 2006 post on argn.com (http://www.argn.com) in a post about Studio Cypher and the guys begin it.

You can go still further and find self-portraits of the PM. But:

1) The PM has a harder job running their game when we post too much R/L info for all to see.

2) Do you really want to know all the intimate details of the PM (Once you've found it is something unrelated to the game)?

3)Does it serve to enhance or detract from the suspension of disbelief we need to have in these pursuits?

When I find these things, I try to keep them under my hat, which is admittedly, hard to do. But it's up to each of us to make the call about these things and how it might impact the game.

Having said that, I feel kinda bad about one of my previous posts, now.
