I agree with you Rogi. Since this is my first ARG since **thinking, do I say it** majestic, I am trying to get a feel for the way this works. I want to contribute, but I don't want to find or reveal anything out of game. At this point I can't determine what is out of game and what isn't, ergo my previous post welcoming the ridicule.
Perhaps I should welcome "education" instead. Very Happy
Maybe I should just wait and see if the veterans post these finds instead. Certainly they are much better at this than me and probably found this stuff a week ago.

TJray, I wouldn't just wait around if ya think ya found something, if your concerned about whether or not it's Behind the Curtain...just PM one of the veterans...or put it behind a spoiler or sumtin...

Ya never know for certain untill you get more input on things...that's why ARGs are comm. based, it requires many peoples minds...otherwise what fun would it be

*continues to look like I know what I'm talking about*

Shunyata's tatts:

Quote:

Hey, Synch.

I'm sorry for the delay. I've been busy prepping for some field work,
which also means I'll be incommunicado for a while. This email address'll
be checked by Will, one of the guys we hired to staff Studio Cypher, our
front. Don't confuse him, he doesn't know anything about us besides what
little we've told him and we'd like to keep it that way. He can't tell
what he doesn't know, right?

Shunyata has tattoos all over. Well, as far as I can tell. I've never
tried to see that cat naked, you know? They're all curves and swirls and
lines, nothing easy to describe. Oh, except for the three concentric
circles on his arm. I don't know why, but that one sticks in my memory.

'Yata just assigned me the number 75 and who knows why that cat does
anything? I've only seen four other Cyphers and've heard about one or two
more. There are a lot more Agents and Wakeful Agents, of course, but they
don't generally have numbers. Like most people, they prefer names.

Talk to you later, Synch!

Looks like Will is *not* a Cypher, so once Kev heads out in the field, we're going to have to find another one who will talk to us Wink

Now to Google 'concentric circles'. Gee, wonder how many hits that will turn up.

regards

Hmm, still with the Buddhist theme.

Thanks!

site down, or just me???

So it is about 8:40 on Wednesday night here where i am, and i just tried to go to the Studio Cypher web site. My browser said that the page could not be displayed and that it wasnt found. I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or if my browser or computer or something is just smegged up. Any response of confirmation or denial would be most benificial!!

Kevin is going on a 'field assignment', website (his baby) is down and we've been told the guy filling in as webmaster is clueless.

I completely think it's showtime.

(edit) I also think Kev's field assignment is not going to go smoothly

SC off line for me too. Hmmm... maybe major update? *I hope, I hope, I hope*

OK back to Oroborous hunting then...
The Mythological Unconscious

has the same Oroborous as Studio Cypher's main page had, in the upper left hand corner.

The concentric circles are also an "archetype", we're loaded heavy on symbolism here. "The Purloined Letter", Robert Burns poetry - that Kevin is one well-read .... something. I don't think Kevin is a person, he made it clear that "people" prefer names to numbers.

Anyway, after ascertaining that the Tesla Coil is in fact a coil, not concentric circles and noting that Kevin specified three circles, I immediately dredged up an off-the-wall, obscure memory of the so-called "Joe Cell", an "orgone" generator. Some have claimed that the Ark of the Covenent was, in fact, an orgone generator and that explains its great and dangerous power.

But that's so off the wall, not even Kevin could have come up with that one .. right?

Correspondence

Greetings all. Just want to say that, other than Edoc, this is the only ARG I've worked with. I've been following it for a few days now and figured I'd start posting my correspondence.

Quote:
First e-mail to Kevin:

Kevin,

I've been watching the correspondence between a few fellow Cyphers,
and that led me to wonder a couple of things.

First: You are known as "Kevin, Cypher #75." Is that to say there are
at least 74 others like you?

Second: Why is Shunyata so hesitant to bring in those who have shown
an interest in helping?

Third: If Shunyata is "the boss's pet," who is the boss?

Fourth: There seems to be much that you don't know. I would assume
there is a hierarchy of sorts among the Cyphers. Where do you stand in
it?

Thank you for your time. I look forward to the Shunyata's first clues.

~ R. Jhen

Quote:
Kevin's response:

I only know about a handful of actual Cyphers and then a multitude of
Wakeful Agents and Agents, but they tend not to be numbered.

This was all my idea, so I've had to slowly bring Shunyata around. I
don't think I'd have been able to do it except that Burke supported me. I
love that girl.

Good question! Maybe Shunyata's the boss and he was just conferring with
someone else. Or maybe he's working for someone else unrelated to the
Cyphers. I don't know any more than I told you, but I'm keeping my ears
out.

I suppose that I'm the new kid, although there's no official hierarchy
beyond the core group/Wakeful Agent/Agent distinction.

Talk to you when I get back from the field!
-- K

Quote:
E-mail to Shunyata:

Shunyata,

My name is Randall Jhen. It is my understanding that Kevin, the person
with whom I have been conversing regarding Studio Cypher, is going
into the field. As I don't know how long he will be out of contact, I
was hoping I might be able to get some information from you directly,
since all the information we get from Kevin has to be cleared by you
anyway.

My big question is this: How soon can we expect you to start releasing
clues and information?

But next, and I'd wager more important... How do WE know YOU can be
trusted? You claim to be preserving the truth against the Erasers, but
how can we be expected to believe you are the "good guys" without any
information about them? For that matter, we don't know anything,
really, about the Cyphers.

What are you? Why do you do what you do? Why do the Erasers do what
they do? How did Kevin get selected, if he's the one who came up with
the idea to recruit other people?

I think we need to know you can be trusted as much as you need to know
WE can be trusted.

~ R. Jhen

Quote:
And finally, Shunyata's response:

Shogen asked "Why does the enlightened man not stand on his feet and
explain himself?" He also said, "It is not necessary for speech to come
from the tongue."
