I got Thunderclap's Trust shirt today, and having worn it around, I've now settled down to try and figure the puzzle.

What I found was a series of dots below the image itself on what would be the lower right hand side if you were looking at the image(left side if you were wearing it). Thus far I haven't figured out the pattern to the dots, though-All I know is that it apparently has two Es and a T in it, and that it could possibly be 4 or 5 words long.

I'll keep wracking my brain over it, though I will accept any assistance Razz

1) What's on the inside of the shirt?
2) Perhaps post a picture?

I figured it out! It's based on the braille alphabet.

It's not an exact fit, as some "letters" are flipped around, but that looks to be it. I'll see if I can't translate it during some free moments at work. If I still can't figure it out, I'll take photos of the shirt when I get home.

I got a few anonymous tips via the Contact Form from the Edoc Guide.

Looks like we need someone to hunt down a copy of YRB Magazine. NYCers?

Also Tshirts will be getting bigger (YES! *fist pumps*)

Will hunt down tomorrow - I swear I saw a copy somewhere in the local mall's Borders' magazine section.

Is there anything specific the tip says to look for?

Unfortunately not :/ I don't even know what issue (though I can say I checked the latest issue - blue cover, chick on front - and didn't see anything.

All I know is that its supposed to be an Ad that's more than just an Ad and that it's supposedly in an issue of YRB.

...yeah, that's the issue I saw too. Nothing there, unless the latitude and longitude of those Fly Girl sunglasses is supposed to represent more than the spot of beach the model is warming herself on.

Probably next issue ('twould be #63), though it would be rather nice of them to do things like put months on their magazine beside the volume and issue numbers, and all that. Or *anywhere on the magazine*, for that matter.

Judging from the file sizes (13K as reported on the /images directory) it doesn't look like it would be stegged. The thumbnail is the same size, so I would guess no. Stegging &/or camo usually adds a bit to the file size in order to hide something "behind" the image.

their file naming techniques sure are strange tho. seems like they could've just called the image blackandwhiteroses.jpg or something. ah well.

This is the YRB magazine we're all taking about, right?

http://www.yellowratbastard.com/magazine/index.aspx

Has anyone contacted their marketing division for a copy of the advert or to find out which edition of the magazine it is in? I don't want to harass them if it has been done already, but if not, I can shoot off an email.

Re: YRB

Here's what we know:

  • YRB is published bimonthly.
  • The current issue is #62, for Mar/Apr 2006, with Joanna Krupa on the cover.
  • Issue #62 appears to contain no advertisement for EDOC.
  • EDOC is not listed on the YRB site as an advertiser.
  • Contrary to most intuitive numbering schemes, the Nov/Dec 2005 issue, two issues ago, was Issue #56. (I surmise that it means the sixth issue of the fifth year, rather than the 56th issue overall.)
  • According to the EDOC site, Issue #56 contained an article about EDOC's clothing line.

Now, we're looking for "an Ad that's more than just an Ad." We've been assuming that this means we should look for an EDOC ad. Could this be an erroneous assumption? (For example, Issue #62 contains an ad for a new clothing line called "Rich Po," with the slogan "EMERGE AND SEE" -- could it be "emergency"? Based on my admittedly cursory research, it appears to be genuine, but it could have been otherwise...)

"Rich Po" does bear an obvious resemblance to Poor Richard, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to link this to EDOC.

That's exactly what caught my attention in the first place. The fact that it was a brand-new line, and that its slogan could have been a hidden message, made it warrant further investigation. Rich Po's site, however, appears entirely legitimate. The name, in addition to being a play on rich/poor, is derived from that of an actual human being named Rich Porter, who was something of an icon back in the 1980s as one of three Harlem drug-lords. They even made a movie about them, called Game Over. Anyway, by all means feel free to poke around some more. I ain't perfect. Mr. Green

I emailed the magazine via the address listed on their website (customerserviceSPLATyrb.us) asking for information on getting my hands on back issues to look for an ad I'm interested in last Thursday, but haven't received a reply yet Razz

So please, harass Wink

I'm rather new to this here game, but I've looked over some stuff on the wiki and tried my hand at a few of the shirts not yet solved. I've noticed obvious existance of letters in the wings of the Angle in Checker, but I can't quite make it out myself.

Hi everyone! Um, I've been lurking amongst Edoc-things since January, & decided it was about time to start actually communicating with people & bouncing ideas around.

Much of yesterday was spent reviewing things, & I actually found a phone number for Edoc Apparel [425 641 3362, if you're interested], which I called this afternoon. I asked about the availability of the shirts, and the [wonderfully helpful] man on the other end pointed me to both evolgear.com & 80spurple.com, both of which I had checked before & neither carried the shirt I was looking for [Rock Angel, anyone?].

However, the helpful part of this conversation then happened: I was told that the online store would be up by May 15 at the latest, & that they were planning to get another shipment of [presumably non-tiny, as I know that was an issue] shirts in at the end of April / beginning of May.

Being a shy person, I didn't want to ask too much about anything at this point, so that was all I came away with [also my phone card is almost completely dry now]. So, do not despair if you can't get to a store! Online retail therapy is soon to come! [& if anyone has more guts than I & cares to speak with Edoc themselves, the number is above.]
