heh, Stratman (I believe, since I don't have the card) is essentially correct. This was my solve for Eternally Grateful:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The answer should be "Danke." (German for thanks)

The lines come from the following:
Darby
American Standard Version
New International Version
King James Version
English Standard Version

Try it out!

How shall we give thanks? - 'In German'

Congratulations!

I was about to say that this is the essential flaw in my hall of fame, where someone who doesn't have the card actually solves it, but at least Fuseunderground 'stood on the shoulders of giants' and added a bit at the end. Plus, Cassandra is already in the hall of fame for the even more high scoring Syzyzgy Cube.

What?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So, "Wie sollen wir Dank geben?" is German for "How shall we give thanks".

Shocked I take it this is:

A: Not the solve
B: incorrectly spelt
C: Driving me up the wall...

C is my current status...! Confused

Any chance of a definitive solve from somebody on this...?

Heh, I'm way too late on this (I was trying to make it into DANHON Wink ) but just thought you might be interested - that font style is often assosciated with Olde English but it's also traditionally used in Germany too. See, for example, propaganda from WW2. Hitler was a big fan of traditional German values in everything from construction (there was a sudden resurgence of steeply pitched roofs) to typefaces, and popularised the Fraktur alphabet - slightly different to this, mainly in the upper case (particularly the S).

Anyway, just thought you all might appreciate the attention to detail in some of these cards Smile

oh, I do Smile I actually do some freelance calligraphy. This font is based on textura quadrata, actually, rather than fraktur. But your point remains the same Smile
