now that it's finally over, will somebody please post the correct answer? I for one cannot see how it was solvable, with certainty (i.e. without guess work), with the original set of clues... I still don't get it Confused

I beleve the following was the correct answer:

Code:
              Agent             Location
Oct/Nov       Paul Jacobs       Panama
Dec/Jan       Christ Walters    Poland
Feb/Mar       Ray Gatin         France
Apr/May       Kane Woods        Egypt
Jun/Jul       Duke Delany       Chile
Aug/Sept      Angela Ross       Switzerland

Christ Walters is the guilty party.

But I am not sure. You might have to swap Paul Jacobs and Christ Walters. I submited both answers.

I think this is actually the correct answer. The number of correct was at 3 and then went up to 6 when I submitted this one...

Quote:
Here are the agent locations...

Code:
                  Agent       Location
Oct/Nov      Chris Walters      Panama
Dec/Jan      Paul Jacobs        Poland
Feb/Mar       Ray Gatin         France
Apr/May      Kane Woods         Egypt
Jun/Jul      Duke Delany       Chile
Aug/Sept     Angela Ross      Switzerland

And I have translated your message..."Things are too hot. Final artifact to be dropped at 09deg 00 min 56 sec, -79 deg 30 min 30 sec Expect final payment in swiss account by end of month." That location is Panama City. The message is addressed to Riley O'Dole (anagram of "Dr. Eli Ye Loo") from Christ Walters (anagram of "Carl Shrewsit") so it appears Christ Walters is the rogue.

my solution

I submitted three solutions, one of which was correct. I submitted the same thing as Varin, except that I specifically said 'Christ Walters is the guilty party, he dropped off an artifact in Panama' or some such instead of quoting the message.

Also, looking at the original suspect list, I couldn't spot reasoning for including Paul Jacobs and not Stan Fujita or Bill Jones. So I submitted an email with the same solution as Varin, plus two more substituting SF and BJ for Paul Jacobs.

Congrats to all the winners. But I still don't get it.

Agent Location
Oct/Nov Chris Walters Panama
Dec/Jan Paul Jacobs Poland
Feb/Mar Ray Gatin France (handed to us through a later hint)
Apr/May Kane Woods Egypt (from passport gif)
Jun/Jul Duke Delany Chile (from QND messaging and archaictranscripts)
Aug/Sept Angela Ross Switzerland (from QND messaging)

Chris Walters can be placed in Panama from the last hint. What I don't get is how, without submitting multiple answers (and basically guessing) (1) you can place Paul Jacobs in Poland (travel was restricted other than Dec/Jan, I understand that, but nowhere does it say Jacobs was in Poland - he could've been anywhere and in that case not necessarily away during Dec/Jan) and without (1) how you can figure out when Walters was in Panama.

What am I missing??? Confused Or was the only way to assume Paul Jacobs was in Poland and/or submit multiple answers??? (and were we supposed to be able to figure it out from the original set of clues?) Hardly seems to be the conclusive proof that Ray asked for.

Well, this is what I assumed...

The last message on the Egypt board said...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
LATEST INTERNAL INFORMATION IS POINTING TO POLAND AS LOCATION OF ROUGE (ROGUE?) AGENT

TIME IS SHORT

Ray then said that this message was not from him and the Egypt board had been comprimised. Since someone internally was trying to misdirect us into looking at the agent in Poland, I assumed that there was an agent in Poland. Why would someone try to blame the agent in Poland if there was no agent in Poland? It was a stretch, but I figured there were no other countries mentioned so I went with Poland.

GO has offically gone!
Congratulations to JoshG.

So that's it?
Is it just me or was this all sort of "anticlimactic"? A guessing game at best? I feel like we either missed something or the game itself was missing something.

I agree that the ending seemed somewhat like a guessing game. In the beginning, it seemed that we found definite places/times for the agents and then the last two relied on a couple of hints. I can't see where we missed something though. We went over all of the files so many times.
