I Love Bees in chronological order
Quote:
About a year ago, a large group of us were enthralled with the ilovebees phenomenon. It was the first time I personally had heard about this type of thing and I absolutely loved the idea. (Hell I submitted my cell phone number and activated some axons while I was on a business trip in DC). So when all was said and done, I wanted to hear the story again; from start to finish in a logical order. What I have done is gone back thru all 12 chapters/weeks that you can find on ilovebees.com, and instead of having them play only one characters story at a time, I have taken the time to edit the files into one large chapter file that follows a logical order. This way you don't find out things too soon if you just listen to them off of the ilovebees.com site. If you haven't listened to these files before I suggest you listen to these.

I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. But thanks for sharing. I've often thought about the order to play it all in because of exactly this reason... I didn't want to give anything away. This should be cool.

just an FYI (redoing the ILB audios seems to be a mini-fad), I've also done the same with the audio files. See my sig... it's ongoing, but the audio files are already completely redone by scene from week 1 to 12.

That's awesome.
I'm downloading the chapter files as we speak. Should really help with making the podcast!

I'm in the process of making a weekly broadcast on a semi-privte Shoutcast server for some online clan-mates of mine... problem with the ReOrdered recordings that Nola mentions above is the audio quality. In the process of editing these clips, there are some serious pops and clicks in the audio that make listening to it unpleasant.
I've tried looking in the Quick Reference forum for a real "quick-and-dumb" synopsis of the ARG, especially it's backstory, explanation of the axons, etc. I think one shortcoming of everyone's involvement here is that those who wrote about ILB were so damned detail-oriented. I really can't seem to find a good eye-in-the-sky look at ILB that doesn't go too far up so as to lose all of the fun and community involvement.
Can anyone point me to a good resource for this?

granted, it's incomplete, and I hvaen't updated in forever, but I'm doing my best to record the actual game events within the context of the game itself...
plus the audio download portion is full quality and ordered chronologically (plot-wise, not necessarily game-wise)... so you can check that out if you like.[/url]

Even without the torrent, you can still go back and find out what ILB was all about. A lot of the old resources are still up and running, and all of the files are still on the ILB website.
I created a guide during the running of the game that is basically of walkthrough of how I experienced it. If you just want to listen to the audio files, the humpty dumpty page has all of the audio pieced together by chapter and character.

There are also a number of other sources for audio files - a few people have created their own compilations. Rowan's guide is one of the few major resources for ILB history - there's also Fireflies and Netninja and my own .
However, you can see another indexed and split chapter-by-chapter MP3 download archive here (though not specifically the same audio order as released, it's one possible interpretation of the actual chronological events).
I looked for a torrent for you but couldn't find an active one. It would be nice to have the DVD available for download again somwhere though, since there's something about seeing the other original items on the actual dvd, rather than just sifting through other people's archives (and everyone has unique ways of compiling and viewing the history of the ARG). There are things on the DVD such as the development history of the Flea's language, which I'm not sure is available elsewhere as it stands on the dvd...
Anyway, hopefully if someone comes across an available DVD ISO they'll post it...

At the risk of getting yelled at for reviving an old topic...
[This is from a non-beekeeper's perspective.]
I wanted to listen to the ILB axon plot, just because I thought it sounded pretty neat and an important part of ARG history. I listened to the first couple episodes here (http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/ilb_reordered/), and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, at about Chapter 5, I started getting really confused. Like, really confused. And then, either in Chapter 6 or 7, I don't remember, one of the scenes just stopped without its wind-down sound, like somebody forgot to tack the rest of the clip on (I guess they forgot that axon clip when pinning the clips together).
So I went and read thebruce's awesome transcripts, and discovered to my dismay that Chapter 5 was missing two or three of Kamal's scenes (in the casino). Not wanting to go any further risking missing part of the plot, I stopped there and downloaded thebruce's files (http://creepy.thebruce.net/AxonScenes.asp).
I listened to the entire thing with this, and it was truly spectacular. Great stuff. I really wish I had been a part of this, but even still... Wow. What a story.
So, anyways... (I'm getting to a point, I promise!) It seems that some of the sites with re-orderings of the axon plot have gone down, and (as others have mentioned) listening to the audio by subject can be a bit confusing (yeah, tried that too).
Therefore, for any newbies to the ILB drama, I personally would reccomend thebruce's reordering, simply because that's the one I had the easiest time understanding. So, uh... That's it. Maybe I didn't have a point after all. ^.^
